随笔是写好作文的基石
生活中的徐昕颖是个性比较文静腼腆的小女生，闲暇时，她要么读一读自己喜欢的《儿童文学》、《读者》等书籍，要么就是写一些随笔。说起如何才能写好作文，徐昕颖有自己独到的认识———
“我们每个人每天都要经历很多事，说很多的话，如果把这些经历或者话语付诸笔端变成文字，那么，经过一段时间，你就会发觉：在不知不觉中你的作文有了令你意想不到的改变，最主要的是这是一种标志着写作文水平提高的改变。”
“所以，在我看来，作文无非就是那一篇篇经过整理、梳理的随笔而已。而随笔也是写好作文的基石。”徐昕颖坚定地说道。
徐昕颖说，可能很多同学都有这样一种感觉，随笔写的时间长了，也存在无话可“写”的尴尬现象，对此，徐昕颖认为，无话可写其实也是非常正常的，同学们无须为此而苦恼，她同样也经历过这种“尴尬”。“之所以无话可写，最本质的一个原因还是缘于我们观察生活不够。老师或家长时常在我们耳边常说的一句话就是‘写好作文在于观察’，其用意很明显就是要求我们用自己的眼睛去观察生活中那一些令人感动的、令人愉悦的、令人伤心的、令人难忘的事与物。”
徐昕颖说她很推崇约翰·列浓说过的一句话———当我们正在为生活疲于奔命的时候，生活已经离我们而去。“所以，我们学生不管学习任务有多繁重，应该停下来感悟生活的时候就应该停下来，不要错过身边的‘风景’———除过看书学习之外，还应该多出去走走，去旅游、去参加社会实践……面对外面的精彩世界，相信你会有很多的感悟与想法，将这些感悟与想法用文字记录下来，让它们最终变成一篇游记或几行随笔……日积月累之后，就会应了一句老话，功到自然成。”
把自己的作文读给别人听
在徐昕颖看来，想要自己的作文水平有所提高，那么就还应将自己的作文读给老师、家长甚至同学听，让他们指出或者帮助修改你的作文中存在的不足之处。
“俗话说，当局者迷，旁观者清。听取别人的意见将是你作文提高的一种有效途径。”徐昕颖说，不少同学总认为自己的作文写到位了，不容易发现自身的问题，即使发现了也不想“动大手术”改。但是对于别人作文中的问题却很敏感，关于这一点，老师，家长似乎无须多说，仅仅就学生来说，不论是作文写得好的同学还是作文写得比较弱的同学，当他们发现别人作文中不足之处的时候，就会站在不同的角度，从不同的观点出发对“问题作文”进行评析、指正。“这些东西对我们的作文而言可谓是难能可贵的，如果我们能以这些指正建议为镜子，对照自己的习作，分析和找出自己习作的长处和短处，取长补短，进行修改，那么，经过这个程序之后，你会发觉这时候的作文与之前的相比将会有很大的不同。”
