一、了解中西文化的差异是写好英语文章的前提。
这里的文化差异不仅包括人文地理和民俗风情方面的不同,而且包括了中英文语言运用习惯的诸多不同。首先,在平时的教学中,我们就必须根据教材,适时渗透一些西方文化知识,让学生尝试了解相关的文化背景等。课后也可鼓励他们自己上网查阅相关资料。这样,既开阔了学生语言学习的视野,也为他们日后的写作提供了一些文化素材。例如,在写 “My favorite festival”一文时,很多学生都写到 “Christmas Day”,这里就涉及到了不少西方节日风俗的文化知识。对这个节日了解较多的学生,他们准备着笔的内容就比其他同学丰富多了。其次,了解英语语言运用的习惯,学习一些简单的英语语法知识,对于写作也是很有必要的。否则,就容易在谴词造句中出现我们中国人学英文的通病——中国式英语。
二、要灵活变通,合理做好作业批改。
在批改英语作文的过程中,经常能发现一些将中文生硬地翻译成英文的表达法。由于中英文之间的差异和词汇量、表达法积累的不足,出现难于表达的情况是十分正常的。关键问题在于如何处理。有一句话叫做“立志如山,行道如水”,套用在这个问题上就很合适。期刊文章分类查询,尽在期刊图书馆写英文作文,一定要有决心把它写好,有信心把意思表达清楚,这是“立志如山”;但关键是遇到问题时要有个灵活的态度,能像流水一样变通解决问题。
有个翻译界的故事说:在某大型国际会议的招待会上,一道菜是用鸡蛋做的。与会的客人问翻译:“What is it made of?”本来是非常简单的一个问题,结果翻译太紧张,忘了“egg”这个词,但是他急中生智,回答:“It is made of Miss Hen’s son.”这里,就是一个灵活变通的范例。绕道表达,是写作中应该常常运用的一种方法。
三、积累词汇和句型是英语写作入门的关键。
这一点与初学中文写作有很多相似之处。一篇用中文书写的文章可包括:字、词、句、段。借用行家的话来说,这些都是构成文章血肉的基本元素。同样,英语作文也必须重视单词和句型的运用。所以,在小学高年级,英语教师就尤其要注意“以新带旧”教学手段的运用。在教授新单词和句型的时候,使以前的语言知识点也得到相应的巩固。同时,适当地教学一些教材以外的常用的简单词句,有意识帮助学生扩大词汇量,这对写作是非常有益的。在我为五年级学生授课的第一天,就要求每个学生都必备一本笔记本,用于记录教材外所学的新词汇(随堂笔记和课外阅读摘抄的好词句),并建议他们有空多翻看,复习,以达到“温故知新”的效果。当然,小学生自主学习的习惯培养难度是比较大。为此,我首先着手培养学生的兴趣,让他们品尝到积累词汇的乐趣。于是,我有时就利用早读课的机会进行开展一些活动,如词汇接力赛,单词串串句游戏等,并每次都累计比赛积分,以每月底在班上评出两个“Smart pupils”。这样,学生学习的热情被激发了,扩大词汇量的许多问题便迎刃而解。常言道,厚积薄发。随时间的推移,我在批改学生作文的过程中,发觉越来越少学生出现以前常有的“无话可写”的毛病了。

听说读写是语言学习的四大要素。在学习的过程中,这四者是紧密联系,相互促进的。在现阶段的小学英语教学中,略侧重于口语教学,这与学生的年龄结构和语言习得规律的阶段性都有关系。为此,小学高年级的英语教师就必须利用这一点引导学生成功跨越初步写作的障碍。小孩基本都有个“通病”——爱动口,懒动笔。所以即使对高年级的学生,在教学中我依然重视他们的口语训练,只不过形式改变了,要求提高了。回答问题,连词说话和复述课文等都是我常用的练习方式,偶尔还会让学生进行相应的写话训练。这样一来,学生不仅口语方面有提高,而且写话水平也有了明显的进步。在每次进行作文练习时,我通常都要求学生先说一说,然后再提笔。这相似于低年级学生初学中文写作时的说话练习环节,对于他们尽快踏入写作之门都是很有益处的。

运用“十引说”的方法,把字词学习与说话训练相结合。“十引说”是:1、分析字形;2、利用教具;3、凭图学词;4、组词扩词;5、选词填空;6、词语搭配;7、调整词序;8、触景用词;9、词语分类;10、联词成句。丰富了说话训练内容,使自己积累大量会说会用的字词,为写作文打下坚实基础。
(二)、句子训练。只要是一个句子,都包括两个方面:一是说的人、事、物、景,二是说目的。可有些教师指导学生说一句话时,没有很好凭借图画和事物,认真教学生观察、认识、分析、表达的方法,只是拿出一张图或一事物让学生说写一句话,学生不知道为什么要说写一句话,怎样说写一句话,说写一句什么句型、什么句式的话,导致作文中语调单一、呆板、不活泼生动。可以改让学生凭图、看物、对话、练习说写一句时间、地点、人物、事件四要素完整的话,四种句型,九种句式的话。学生才会在作文中运用不同句型、句式,表达不同的思想、感情、态度、目的。
(三)、段的训练。结合八种段式:以事物发展为序段,时间先后为序段,空间变换为序段,总述、分述结构段,因果段、转折段,递进段,并列段。以此认识客观事物的发生、发展规律。不论哪种段式,都是记叙事物的发展和人们对事物的认识,即段的内容,段的中心。它和一句话一样,也是对人、事、物、景的叙述,也是表达一个意思。只不过是把一句话进一步说得更清楚、更深刻。
(四)、篇章训练。篇是由段组成的。通过对审题、立意、选材、谋篇、定法、用语的知识与方法,通过记叙、描写、抒情、议论四种表达方法,文章开头与结尾、过渡与呼应方法,各种文章体裁的知识与方法。学会写中心明确,意思完整,详略得当的记叙文和应用文。
(五)、生活现场训练。采用生活现场训练,更好地体会“从内容入手”写作文。通过各种作文教学活动,如“确定中心讨论会”、“选材讨论会”、“作文会诊会”、“小诸葛审题会”、“妙用词语比赛会”,从活动中生动具体地学到作文知识与写作文的方法。另外,还可开展各种校内外活动,如跳绳、拔河、踢毽、球类、背书比赛,从而学会如何写比赛作文;开展校内外义务劳动,学会如何写劳动场面;举行诗歌朗诵、讲演会,学会如何写会议场面及会议上的见闻;通过参观访问,浏览名胜古迹,学会如何写参观访问记、游记。学习观察方法,留心周围的事物、事件,“处处留心皆学问,人情练达即文章”。通过现场生活作文,进一步认识到:生活是作文的沃土。从而学会写真事、抒真情,陶冶真、善、美的情操,培养良好的文风。
