I have always been fond of fairy tales in which there are Genies who can promise people’ wishes to come true. And there must be three wishes as it always does. What if one day I encounter a Genie, and he gives me three wishes. If Genie gives me three wishes, first of all, I want to ask him to give me more wishes. I'm only joking. Because I really want to have more chances to help others and change the world to a better place.

Genie, Genie, my first wish is to water the entire desert and turn it into fertile land. At present the human being are encountering the threat of starving to death with the bad effect of global desertification. The desert’s fast scattering has been a great menace to the existence of more than two billion people, especially the people of developing countries. Many governments have declared to unite to prevent the disaster to happen. But the desertification has covered such large area that human can’t change the situation in a short time. If I can use the magic power of Genie, the bad situation could be changed quickly. This would also help the farmers to grow more food and feed more people.

Genie, Genie, my second wish is to become a good lawyer in five years. I will graate from the university in three years. Then I want to be a lawyer. Nowadays in China we are in great need of talented lawyers. We can see that there has been much trouble since 1979, the year when our government decided to reform and open, such as corruption, pollution and the loss of morality. These are caused by many reasons. But one of the most important reasons is that the society lacks good lawyers. If I can be a lawyer, I would try my best to help the poor protect their rights. And I would reveal the truth of officials’ corruption. Nobody could prevent me from carrying out the laws.

Genie, Genie, my third wish is to build a big, gigantic house on the moon which must be large enough to cover the surface of the satellite and provide the residents with soil, water and fresh air. Therefore the pressure of exploding population can be lessened on the earth. Lunar residents can support themselves by growing grains and other foods. People could travel by man-made satellites between the earth and the moon.

Genie, Genie, can you satisfy me, please? Genie, Genie, can you give me more wishes, please? There are many, many problems to be solved. If you can’t promise me this, I will use my own power to achieve my goals.
