Because of this feeling, people often neglect to take care of themselves when they are sick. This is not the best thing that you can do for yourself. The best liquids to drink when you are sick are water, orange juice, and decaf herbal teas. Continually sip on some form of liquid when you have a cold to help you to get better faster.
Sleep for 8 to 10 hours a day. Your body needs rest to help it to repair itself from being sick. The average alt needs 6 hours of sleep a day when healthy. Most alts do not even get this amount. To give your body time to take care of you when you have a cold, you need to make sure that you get at least 8 hours of sleep a day. You may need more depending on how run down you feel.
Listen to your body when you are sick. If your body is telling you that you are over doing it and need to sit down, then do so. Your body will give you hints to make the right choices to take care of it when you are sick. All you have to do is to listen to it.
