Yesterday I read an English newspaper for the first time. When I spread it out, I didn't know where to start. All the headlines confused me and the writing style of the articles was very different from that of what we usually read. However, after looking up the new words left and right in the dictionary, I finally made out the meaning more or less.
Reading newspapers was not as easy as I had expected, but it offered me a sense of achievement and aroused my interest in learning the language. The comic strip was the first part of this newspaper I read. Some of them are quite amusing, some philosophical, and still others quite political. Then I tried to read other parts of the newspaper, like the editorial and local news.
