植树，就是种树，栽树。同学们一定都不会感到陌生。从图上近处的两个人来看，他们一定是在种树。小女孩儿两手稳稳地扶着小树苗，小男孩儿弯着腰，两手握着铁锹，正铲起土往树坑里填，小女孩儿脚边的水桶显然是用来浇水的。在他们身后土坡上，已经有了十几棵新栽下的小树苗，一群和他们年龄相仿的小学生，有的在用锄头刨坑，有的在给小树苗浇水，有的扛着铁锹正准备再栽下一棵，有的背着小树苗正朝坡上走来。从远处林立的高楼和离他们不远的一条河来看，他们可能是在护城河的岸边，可能是在郊外的山坡、荒地上。有了细致的观察做基础，同学们才能写出内容具体的看图作文。
观察不但要有顺序，还要有主次之分。抓住主要人物进行观察，在描写中注重人物的动作，语言、神态的刻画，同时，要注意运用联想和想象，比如开头怎么样，结果会怎么样，从动作中想象人物会说什么，会想什么，尤其是近处两个人的动作。描写要注意点面结合，除主要人物具体描述外，环境描写应做为主体内容的衬托，做为背景的人、物、景等也不必一一罗列，做简单的交代就可以了。选取记叙材料的时候，应该注意侧重于表现中心的内容。
在记叙的过程中，可以选取不同的结构顺序。可以按事情的发展顺叙，从事情发生的时间、地点、人物、起因、经过、结果依次叙述。也可以由对主要人物的描述扩展到整个劳动场面的描写。无论怎样叙述，都不能丢开“植树”这个主题，过程要分几步写具体。
