If I were a boy againIf I were a boy again, I would practice perseverance more often, and never give up a thing because it was or inconvenient. If we want light, we must conquer darkness. It takes a little hard work at first to remember things accurately; but memory soon helps itself, and gives very little trouble. Inner sunshine warms not only the heart of the owner, but of all that come in contact with it. “ who shuts love out ,in turn shall be shut out from love.” If I were a boy again, I would school myself to say no more often. I might write pages on the importance of learning very early in life to gain that point where a young boy can stand erect, and decline doing an unworthy act because it is unworthy. If I were a boy again, I would demand of myself more courtesy towards my companions and friends, and indeed towards strangers as well. The smallest courtesies along the rough roads of life are like the little birds that sing to us all winter long, and make that season of ice and snow more enrable. 比赛规则
分组：各分赛区选拔赛听力环节根据选手按照《美国语伴》自报级别进行，其他环节按小学组、初中组、高中组和大学成人组进行。
二、评分标准：
1、内容（20分）：内容充实，结构清晰、完整，有新意；
2、语音语调（20分）：发音正确、清楚，表达自然准确；
3、流畅性（10分）：表达流畅，语速适中；
4、词汇和语法（15分）：用词恰当，无语法错误；
5、风度（10分）：表现力强，有较好的台风并能有生动的肢体语言；
6、交流应变能力（15分）：反应敏捷、正确，能够恰当地与他人沟通；
7、整体评价（10分）：综合表现协调一致，自然大方。
三、比赛办法：
1、比赛按分赛区选拔赛和河北赛区决赛两个阶段进行。
2、分赛区选拔赛以分赛区为单位组织，共两个环节：1）听力测试，全省统一出题，同一时间进行，重点考察选手听力，出题范围以《美国语伴》相应级别为主，原则上略高于中小学教学大纲要求；2）演讲比赛，采用自命题演讲的方式，时间不超过3分钟，由分赛区组织评委现场评分，重点考察选手英语口语发音和写作与表达能力。以上两项得分相加为选手总分，根据总分排名确定进入全省决赛选手。
3、全省决赛分三轮进行：1）第一轮为预赛，由演讲比赛和评委面试两个环节组成。演讲比赛为自命题演讲；评委面试采用现场提问的方式，所提问题由选手抽签获得。两项得分相加为选手总分，按总分名次决定进入第二轮比赛的选手；2）第二轮为半决赛，形式为即兴命题演讲和评委提问，重点考察选手听说能力和应变能力；3）第三轮为决赛，按照中央电视台总决赛环节进行，详情请参照中央电视台制作的往届比赛图书和光盘。
4、往届进入全国总决赛选手不再参加本组比赛，如参加更高级别组比赛，可以直接进入半决赛。往届进入全省总决赛的选手，可以直接进入半决赛。
5、为了体现重在参与的原则，同时保证比赛的高水平，组委会将根据各校、各分赛区参加初赛的选手比例和成绩分配进入全省决赛的选手名额。
A Young Idler,An Old Beggar
Almost everyone knows the famous Chinese saying：A young idler，an old beggar. Throughout history，we have seen many cases in which this saying has again and again proved to be true.
It goes without saying that the youth is the best time of life，ring which one's mental and physical states are at their peaks. It takes relatively less time and pains to learn or accept new things in a world full of changes and rapid developments. In addition，one is less likely to be under great pressure from career，family and health problems when young. Therefore，a fresh mind plus enormous energy will ensure success in different aspects of life.
Of course，we all know：no pains，no gains. If we don't make every effort to make good use of the advantages youth brings us，it is impossible to achieve any goals. My lecture’s name is “ Perfect Holiday”.
Now it’s the 21st century, everyone is busy. Especially our parents are very busy. Every boys and girls, please imagine this: your parents go away on business, but you have to stay at home alone. Would life as easy as when your parents are around? Would it be a perfect holiday for you?
Once, my parents both go on business. I worry “Where would I find food? How would I cook it?” Actually I know little about cooking.
I can fill an empty stomach with tomato and egg soup, but that’s all. I think many of my classmates are the same. We wouldn’t know what to do, or how to look after ourselves. So I don’t think teenagers get enough practice.
My friends said that they did their homework until 10 o’clock, it’s so late! Most teenagers only have time for their homework. They don’t learn any life skills until they go to college.
But why it happens? In my opinion, many teenagers depend too much on their parents, and there is much more to learn than cooking, like“tidying up your room or even dressing yourself properly”.
If we want to solve this problem, there’s a way: Try our best to do some things on our own. A human first need be a self-help person, then he will be a successful man.

Last but not least, classical music frequently transcends the limitation of time and space. The classical works of those famous musicians have been and will always be masterpieces all the time. Even today Mozart and the above-mentioned musicians are still remembered and respected for their classical music by most people in different countries throughout the world, although Mozart himself was nothing but a mortal person.

Who Deserves Help?
Many years ago, there lived a very rich man who wanted to do something for the people of his town. But first he wanted to find out whether they deserved his help. So he placed a very large stone in the center of the main road into town. Then he hid behind a tree and waited. Soon an old man came along with his cow.
"Who put this stone in the center of the road?" said the old man, but he did not try to remove the stone. Instead, with some difficulty he passed around the stone and continued on his way. Another man came along and did the same thing; then another came, and another. All of them complained about the stone in the center of the road, but not one of them tried to remove it. Late in the afternoon, a young man came along. He saw the stone and said, "The night will be very dark. Some neighbor will come along later in the dark and will fall against the stone. "
The young man then began to move the stone. He pushed and pulled with all his strength to move it to one side. But imagine his surprise when under the stone he found a bag full of money and this message: "This money is for the thoughtful person who removes this stone from the road. That person deserves help."
