四六级英语考试口语考试的的每场考试都由两名主考官主持、三名考生参加，时间为20分钟。考试由三部分组成：
第一部分主要是“热身练习”，先由考生作自我介绍，目的是使考生进入一个良好的应考状态，以充分发挥出自己的英语口语水平；然后主考官向每一个考生提问，所提问题由口语考试所决定的话题而决定。每位考生回答一个问题。时间约5分。

根据四六级考试改革进程，大学英语四、六级考试口语考试仍将与笔试分开实施，继续采用已经实施了五年的面实行的四、六级口语考试（CET-SET）。同时，考委会将考虑计算机化口语测试，推动大学英语口语教学 。
国家教育部高等教育司为检验与认定高校非英语专业在校生对英语口语掌握的程度，全国大学英语四六级考试委员会在1999年11月开始施行的大学英语四六级口语测试。全称叫大学英语四、六级口语考试（CET Spoken English Test）简称大学英语口语考试（CET-SET）。

This method turns out to be a failure: the children often tend to be more absent-minded and even anxious ring their learning under their parents' supervision. That is to say, the kind of supervision is just a waste of time. Neither the child or the parent is able to harvest anything. In essence, it shows a lack of trust and confidence between children and their parents. If parents can give more trust to their children and let them learn on their own, the result will be much more satisfying probably.
