㈤ 2020年，高中生参加英语类竞赛是否有用

首先，我试着从题主的角度分析一下题主为什么会这么问？
一、最直接的原因是自主招生取消：
不知道题主的成绩怎么样？但是能问这样的问题，说明你是关注过竞赛，而且在英语类竞赛中有一定优势，裸分成绩达不到好学校水平，但凭借自招可以上一个985大学的学生。换句话来说，你的成绩应该是处于中上等水平，约580分左右，且英语成绩不错。
自招取消对你的影响我想你已经知道了，如果只凭借裸分，最后的结果基本就是上的大学降了一档。而且这个降了一档只针对中上等、中等学生，成绩好的学生不在乎这些，他们裸分就能上清北，成绩差的学生也参加不了自主招生，所以纠结还是中上等、中等学生纠结，裸分上不了理想大学，而且不甘心，想上更好的大学现在也有点使不上力的感觉。题主这么问实际上就是不甘心自己努力了这么多年，最后却因为政策变动失去了上更好大学的机会。
二、高考的环境日趋严峻：
从人数就能看出来，高考环境是日趋严峻的，去年应该是1031万，今年也不会少多少。而且现在像衡水中学、人大附中等等超级中学的学霸们真的太多了，以河北省2019年理科为例，北京大学的提档线为696分，北京外国语大学的提档线也要650分以上才行。竞争太激烈。
其次，怎么办的问题：
你的老师应该已经告诉过你，最简单直接的办法就是提高分数。但同时也不要忘了还有综合评价和今年发布的强基计划，两者其实很相似，综评和强基都是重视高考分数，但同时注重你的综合素质的，强基可能更多在基础学科身上，但本质是不变的，都是要求学生高考分数要高，但同时，个人综合素质强的学生更容易突围。
分数提高就不说了，学校就是干这个的，那么可以大作文章的就是综合素质方面，这一方面是综评和强基高校自主测试自主选拔的重要考察因素，但也是学校教不了的部分。现在的政策环境，高校的自主权虽然不像自主招生盛行的时候那么大，但还是有大约15%比例的，不要小瞧这个部分，高考分数咬的多紧这些都有据可查，如果你能争取到高校这15%，你已经半只脚迈入这个学校的大门了。
这部分怎么突围？很简单，看有哪些活动活事情能为这部分“加分”，就去做就好了，支教、公益、演讲、夏令营，各种活动很多，比如说山东有的高校就要求有学生有社区服务和实践活动经历，江苏的某些高校也要求学生学业水平测试成绩达到一定要求或者必须有奖项。你想参加英语类的就去一些专攻英语的活动，什么创新英语，21世纪都可以。
但还是要给你提个醒，说这些是竞赛，建议你不如把这些叫成实践活动更好一点，这样你不至于太过纠结于奖项，也不用总问参加这些活动有没有用这样毫无营养的问题。一般功利性太强造成的结果就是一旦有个地方没发挥好就很容易心态崩了，也许本来可以有个实践活动的证明，甚至还有个奖项，心态崩了就全没了，把他当做一次历练，每一次都尽力，你若盛开，清风自来，发挥得好可能获奖，不好的话还可以有个实践证明之类的，再不济也可以结识一些优秀的人吧，可以学到一些东西吧，可以开阔一些眼界吧，这些东西在未来十年可能比你心心念念的奖项重要的多。
其实除此之外，如果你家庭条件好的话，还可以走出国留学这条路。这条路除了花钱多几乎没有缺点，既能镀金，又能锻炼能力，更重要的是，高中申本科有很大的几率能够申到很好的学校（因为高中学的东西国内国外根本不是一个难度等级的），这些学校可能在世界学术榜上比清北的排名还要高，这样就意味着你三四年后回国找工作的竞争力更强，而且出国留学也是积累人脉的过程，人脉这个事情可能是很多小朋友现在不屑于谈论的，但只要你回国发展，这就是个绕不开的话题。
综上，我的观点是可以参加，但提高分数这一点别落下。如果参加不要带着太大的功利性，要知道，无论成绩怎么样，参加这些活动这件事情本身都是你一生的财富。
