阅读理解是英语教学的核心内容之一，也是英语教学中的一个难点。阅读理解主要是考查学生综合运用所学语言知识的能力，包括阅读能力，理解能力，归纳概括能力，逻辑推理能力以及对材料的评估能力等。阅读理解不仅要求学生理解所读材料的“语言意义”， 而且更重要的是理解语篇意义以及整篇文章的大意。我们的学生年龄比较小，理解能力有限，英语水平参差不齐，也基本未进行过系统的语法教学，所以阅读对于他们是比较困难的。那我们怎样培养学生的阅读习惯呢？首先，教师要发挥课堂教学的主渠道作用，教会学生正确的阅读方法。在课堂教学中，教师有目的、有计划、有组织地面对全班进行教学，通过课堂教学，可以加强学生的语言基础知识的运用，培养正确的阅读方法，使学生养成良好的阅读习惯，从而提高阅读理解能力。1、 要求学生掌握所学的词汇，如最常用的名词、动词、形容词及一些常见的介词、连词等。2、 回归基础，力求做到单元中的阅读文章过关。3、 培养正确的阅读方法：基于学生语法知识很差，我通常建议学生带着问题找答案。（如果文章比较简单，就采取限度文章了解大意，再去做题。）其次，要加强学生课外阅读的训练，提高学生的阅读理解能力。要提高学生的英语阅读能力，还需要结合学生的具体情况，有计划地指导他们阅读一定数量的课外读物。这样才能才能积累大量的词汇，扩大知识面，培养语感，提高阅读技巧，形成良好的阅读习惯，从而具备较强的英语阅读能力。但是在选择阅读材料时，要注意形式和内容在难易程度上的搭配，会使学生失去阅读的兴趣的题材。这样学生才会主动去读，也才能很好的达到目的。总之，教师在课堂教学过程中有目的地教授阅读技巧和学习方法，有利于学生掌握扎实的英语基础知识与基本的阅读技巧，也有利于培养学生的自学能力，提高学生的阅读能力。但除此之外，还需要大量的、广泛的课外阅读。要促使学生养成良好的阅读习惯，培养语感，提高阅读能力，从而全面提高学生应用英语的能力。
