J.K. Rowling is the writer of Harry Potter, which is now one of the best-sellers in the world.
J.K. Rowling was born in Bristol on July 31st, 1965. She has one sister who is two years younger than her. Both girls loved listening to their father reading bedtime stories to them. They especially loved stories about magical worlds. Rowling wrote her first story, called Rabbit, at the age of six.
After she graated from the university, Rowling worked as a translator in London. During this time, on a long train trip in the summer of 1990, the idea came to her of a boy who has magic but doesn't know it. In 1992 Rowling began to teach English. She lived with her baby daughter, Jessica, and spent much time finishing the first Harry Potter book for young readers. It appeared in June 1997. To her surprise, the book was greatly successful. Why has the series been so successful? There are a few things. Many other magical stories take place in far away lands or in past or future times. But Harry lives in modern England. He's also a very normal boy: polite, friendly, brave and clever. So when other children read about Harry, they can imagine being like him.
J.K. Rowing is very happy with the success, and she is now busy finishing the whole series of seven books. She's writing full time and she's really enjoying life. She says she will go on living a normal life with her daughter and writing children's books.

Hogwarts has four apartments and each stands for different character. The first thing Harry should do is to choose a suitable apartment. Although the hat tells him that Slytherin will help him on the way to greatness, he still choose the apartment which stands for justice. In there, Harry makes friends with Ron Wesley and Hermione Granger .And like a ordinary student, he spends most of his time on study. But what he learns is quite different , he learns magic such as Transfiguration Class ,Charms Class ,Defence Against The Dark Arts Class ,Flying Lessons and Potions Class . Harry also takes part in many activities.In addition, Harry and his friends can go to magic village to enjoy their leisure time. They can go to Zonko’s Joke Shop ,Honeykes ,The Shrieking Shack for fun. But Harry finds that Professor Severus Snape always treats him unfriendly and he often make troubles with Harry. The professor seems to be sick to Harry. In the meantime, Harry finds that Professor Quirrel ,the teach of Defence Against The Dark Arts Class is threatened by Professor Snape,who seems like much of a coward. And Snape has a sever hurt on his foot bited by a three-head dog who is guarding the important stone. Harry and his friend think there must be a big intrigue growing in the peaceful school. Sneap is the key role. So they decide to venture, to do something that can protect their school. The three new fishes has gone through a lot of difficulties to find the truth: Lord Voldemort want to rebirth with the help of the Sorcerer‘s stone,so he let the Quirrel steal the stone. The You-Know-Who attaches on Quirre.In the last, Harry and his friend defeat the monster and protect the stone.

本人所有哈利波特英文原版版都读过，其实不难，看这种英文书的话英语水平会飞速提版高的！我就是经权常读一些英文课外读物，然后现在我每次考试都在90以上的！刚开始的时候会有些难度，而且会很枯燥，需要一手字典一手书，边查边看，但是你的词汇量和语法会大大提高的！ 建议你试一下，以你的水平应该够了。
『捌』 《哈利波特》英文版适合什么英语水平的人阅读
英国版和美国版没有难度上的差异，只是极少极少的地方因为英式英版语和美式英语的权差别，两个版本用词不一样。
另外就是美国版的排版更合理一点，行距大一些，看着没有那么累，当然价钱也就贵一些。
难度上，没有那么夸张啦～
我觉得高中就足矣了。
我的前五本是在高一高二的假期里面看完的，第六本是在高三毕业的那个暑假看完的。
我觉得哈利波特这个系列，有一定的英文基础就可以看的……
我的经验是：
里边固然有一些很专业的词汇，也有大段大段的环境描写什么的，但是看原版书哪个不是这样的啊，这种书是不能指望每个词都懂或者每个词都去查的……
看这种书要得是一个“泛读”，和我们上课学课文的那种“精读”是完全不同的。
有的时候要有取舍，那些又长又复杂的单词完全可以不去管它，根本就不影响阅读本身，不影响理解大意把握剧情。而有一些确实重要的单词，在它出现了两三次之后猜也能猜出来是什么意思了。
它里面有一些特别地道特别好的表达和句式，看了之后哪怕只学到一点点，也是受用无穷的～^-^
