George Jacobs closing his office, when an old woman felt free to walk right in.
Hardly anyone walked through his door these days. The people hated him. For fifteen years he'd picked the people’s pockets clean of money. No one had ever been able to hook him on a charge. But back to our little story.
The old woman that came in had an ugly scar on her left cheek. Her clothes were mostly filthy rags and other crude material. Jacobs was counting his money.
"There! Fifty-thousand, nine hundred and seventy-three dollars and sixty-two cents."
Jacobs always liked to be precise.
"Indeed a lot of money," she spoke up. "Too bad you won't be able to spend it."
Jacobs turned around.
Why - who are you?" he asked in half surprise. "What right have you to spy on me?"-
The woman didn’t answer. She held up her bony hand. There was a flash of fire on his throat - and a scream. Then, with a final gurgle, George Jacobs died.
"I wonder what - or who - could have killed him?" said a young man.
"I’m glad he’s gone." said another.
That one was lucky.
He didn’t look behind him.
Memories of junior high school three years
Time flies, three years of junior high school like this in the past. Looking back, I still feel fresh.
In those years, we together ridicule. Noisy all day time is gone for ever.
Junior high school for three years, the feelings of the book did not read much, friendship is a lifetime in mind. Remember, when we were in school, we took the empty bottle with great strength and shouted at the people on the race track. Come on, come on. Crazy like this in the past three years.
Time is not here, but friendship is still there. Now, we have entered high school, more heavy burden of study will be given to us, ready to face the sun, smile face it.
He used to cause a lot of trouble.
Martin Murray is a fifteen-year-old boy. He used to be a “problem child”, but a recent conversation with his mother changed his life. He didn’ use to give his mother many problems. However, after his father’s death a few years ago, Martin’s life became much more difficult. His mother couldn’t afford to pay for her child’s ecation. To do this, she had to work, and so was not often at home.
His mother looked after him as well as she could. Unfortunately, Martin still caused problems for him-self and his family. He was not interested in studying, and he often got into trouble with the police. Luckily, his mother was very patient, and didn’t give up trying to help him. In the end, she made a difficult decision: to send him to a boy’s boarding school. Martin hated it and used to cause a lot of trouble. One day, he told his teacher he wanted to leave the school. Even the teacher agreed that Martin was wasting his time.
The head teacher said it was necessary to talk with his mother. Martin called his mother, but to his surprise, this phone call changed his life. “It was exactly what I needed,” he said. “My mother helped me to understand how much she had given me. She also told me that even though my father was no longer with us, he was watching me, and would always take pride in everything good I do. That’s when I decided to change. I realize that since my father died, I have been afraid of being alone, and have tried to make my mother pay more attention to me.”
Now Martin has really changed. He has been working hard, and is now a top student in his class. How was he able to change? His mother’s love helped him to feel good about himself, and as Martin himself says, “It’s very important for parents to be there for their children.”
