本人從事外貿工作，經常與外國人郵件往來。但非正式的書面文體交流。看了樓上的回答，絕對可以採納。不過為了補充，還是留給樓主一些個人觀點和解釋，僅供參考。
首先，個人認為樓主說到「造句」，用這個詞來形容和理解英文寫作就是錯誤的觀點。恕我冒昧地直言，樓主不應該到這個時候還被填鴨式教育限制住思維方式。我們寫漢語作文的時候，也不是一句一句造出來的，那樣的漢語作文同樣不會得到高分。假如題目關於環境問題，如果你寫漢語作文還停留在「造句」的范疇中，那你一定會寫出一句讓讀者（老師）看起來非常氣憤的話：
「環境問題是一個非常值得讓人思考的問題。」
這個例子主要反映了：
1，寫作的人滿腦子都在想用」環境「一詞來寫出句子，而不是用句子來表達自己對環境問題的看法及觀點；
2，這句話對中心思想起不到一點兒作用，如果這種句子可以扣分的話，閱卷人是絕對不會手軟的；
稍微解釋一下樓上所提到的」如果要表達一樣的意思，最好選擇不同的單詞，找到他的同義詞，或者變換一種說法「的意思：
假如這句話你想用英語表達出來，你還真就不能用中國人的大腦先把這個句子想出來然後翻譯成英文，而應該是直接用英語的思維去構造這個句子。如果直譯過來便是一個典型的反面例子：
Environmental problem is a very worthful problem for us to think.
這樣表達就是中國式英語（Chinglish），外國人寫作絕對不會這樣寫。涉及到要表達第一人稱的句子，在寫作的時候，如果不是記敘紀實類文章，而是議論文的話，通常都會用第三人稱的倒裝句來表述，例如：
It is very worthful for us to think about the environmental problem.
同時，在這句話的變型中，省略掉了一個重復的problem，顯得句子干凈利索。這是樓上所說的」不要重復用詞「。如果還想變得更地道更正式一點，就換掉不必要的第一人稱」us「，將」think「換成另一個單詞來表達更為貼切的意思，例如：
It is very worthful for people to discuss the environmental problem.
單詞」think「只是」想「，別無它意了，而"discuss」是「討論」的意思。在漢語的表達中，例句」環境問題是一個值得令人思考的問題「表達得一點兒錯誤都沒有，而且很容易就被我們理解了。然而，實際上我們想表達的意思是」環境問題是一個值得令人深思，從中要發現我們做的不足的地方，想出解決的辦法，並從實際出發，實施一些具體的舉動，以達到改善的問題「。這樣的中心思想，用discuss來表達更為貼切，而且顯得這個句子提高了一個水平。
樓主提到您知道許多單詞，但是我想大膽且冒昧地猜測，您並不」了解「您所知道的全部的單詞，抽象一點兒來說就是你和這些單詞的感情還不夠深厚。就好比」come on「這個短語，我當初學到它的時候書本上解釋為」加油，努力「，現在想想這個解釋純屬扯淡！這種用法一般都是在鼓勵小孩子或者同伴的時候才用的！通常它的用法都是指」來吧，快來「或者」得了吧，這怎麼可能「的意思。例如：
Come on! It's your turn now!
來吧，輪到你了！
Come on！He cannot be like that!
得了吧，他不可能哪樣（做）/拉倒吧，他可不是哪樣的人！
就好比是「哎」這個漢字，你可以用於表達疑問：」哎？這是怎麼回事？「也可以表達惋惜：」哎！最後一班公交車沒趕上。「還可以表達強調（責備，憤怒）：」哎！我說，你還能不能幫我把東西送過來了？「
總而言之，如果你只是利用從教材背下來的單詞和老師那裡學到的語法，去指望用來寫作，絕對不可能；指望用漢語先想好要寫什麼再逐句翻譯過來寫成英語，別人絕對不愛看。不要指望把你所謂的」學「到的東西全都」用「出來，而是要把你領悟到的東西提升一個層次，舉一反三地掌控在你的手中。盡管教育制度和體系你無法改變，但是你可以改變自己的學習態度和方法。
無論是為了應付考試還是提高寫作水平，背經典例句都不是好方法。好的句子不是背下來的，是你發現句子寫得很經典而打心眼兒里主動去記住它的。例如馬丁路德金的演講中排比句的每一句開頭都是」I have a dream, that...」。這個句型幾乎拿到每個喜歡學習英語的社會人群中都會產生共鳴。我不知道「背例句」這個說法是哪個混蛋老師提出的觀點，語文課的「背誦課文」還勉強可以接受，畢竟有些詩詞歌賦的確值得我們背誦。
