Ⅰ.後綴-able與-ible

形容詞後綴-able與-ible是同義後綴,加在動詞後,使動詞變為形容詞,其意義相當於情態動詞 can +此動詞被動式。所以在語義上有被動意義。例如:

The results can be tested.→The results are testable.這些結果是可測試的。

究竟哪些動詞加-ible,哪些加-able呢?

1.加-ible的詞大多數來自拉丁語。下面加-ible的詞都是來自拉丁語的動詞。如:edible(可食用的) visible(可見的)sensible(可覺察的)possible(可能的)flexible(易彎曲的)

2.以-mit結尾的動詞,將-mit變為-miss再加 -ible。如:permit→permissible(可允許的)

3.以-nd結尾的動詞,將-nd變為-ns再加-ible,如:respond→responsible(有責任的),defend→defensible(能防禦的)

4.加-able的動詞遠比加-ible的多,且-able為活性後綴,如要構成這一意義的新詞時,都是加 -able。

5.一般以"e"結尾的動詞,去掉"e"再加-able。如:erase→erasable(可擦掉的),deceive→deceivable(可欺的)

也有直接加的,如:change→changeable(可變化的),service→serviceable(有用的)

6.動詞以輔音加y結尾,y變i加able。如:deny→deniable(可否認的),rely→reliable(可靠的)

Ⅱ.後綴-ize(-ise)
後綴-ize(-ise)可以加在名詞或形容詞的後面構成動詞,表示"照……樣子做"、"按……方式處理"、"使成為……"、"變成……狀態"、"……化"的意思。例如:dramatic(戲劇的)→dramatize(改編成劇本), modern(現代的)→modernize(現代化),organ(組織)→organize(組織起來),civil(文明的)→civilize(使文明,變為文明),system(系統)→sys- temize(系統化),normal(正常的)→ normalize(使正常化),equal(平等的)→equalize(使平等,使相等)

注意某些以-y結尾的詞,加 -ize(-ise)後綴時,要去掉-y再加-ize(-ise),例如: sympathy(同情心)→sympathize(同情,表同情)

Ⅲ.後綴-ful,-ous,-ent,-ant後綴-ful,-ous,-ent,-ant均為形容詞後綴。可以直接加在動詞或名詞的後面構成形容詞。一般來說,動詞加後綴-ful,-ous,-ent,-ant構成的形容詞表示主動意義。

-ful表示"富有……的","充滿……的","具有……性質的","易於……的"或"可……的"。例如: powerful(有力的)peaceful(和平的)shameful(可恥的)helpful(有幫助的)forgetful(易忘的)

-ous表示"如……的","有……性質的","有……的"或"屬於……的"。例如:envious(羨慕的;妒嫉的)dangerous(危險的)famous(著名的)barbarous(野蠻的)monstrous(怪異的,畸形的)

-ent表示"具有……性質的"或"關於……的"。例如:dependent(依賴的)confident(自信的)apparent(明顯的)innocent(無罪的,天真的)frequent(屢次的)

-ant表示"屬於……的"或"具有……性質的"。例如:tolerant(能容忍的)assistant(輔助的)ascendant(上升的)accordant(和諧的,一致的)

Ⅳ.後綴-ee

後綴-ee屬名詞後綴,有較強的構詞能力,它不但能加在動詞後面構成名詞,也可以加在某些形容詞或名詞後面構成名詞。其構詞的特點可歸納為以下幾點:

1.加在許多及物動詞後面構成名詞,表示含有被動意義的"受動者",這類名詞也稱作"被動性名詞"。例如:trainee(接受訓練者)employee(雇員) appointee(受任命者)expellee(被驅逐者)addressee(收件人)toastee(接受祝酒者)detainee(被拘留者)inter- viewee(被采訪者)

2.加在某些不及物動詞後構成名詞,表示含有主動意義的"施動者",即執行某動作的人。一般說來,這類動詞沒有加後綴-er或-or的形式。例如:returnee(歸國者)escapee(逃亡者)embarkee(上船者)meetee(參加會議者)refugee(難民)divorcee(離婚者)
值得注意的是,如果這個詞以不發音的-e結尾,這時只加一個-e即可。如:advise- advisee(被建議者)invite-invitee(受邀者) retire-retiree(退休者)

Ⅴ.後綴-er,-or,-ar
在表示"人"的這個意義上,它們像三姊妹。例如:banker(銀行家)teenager(13-19的青少年)actor(男演員)translator(翻譯者) governor(總督)scholar(學者)liar(撒謊者) beggar(乞丐)pedlar(小販)

Ⅵ.後綴-ism與-ist

是一對意義相關的後綴。它們最基本的意義是"……主義"和"……主義的(者)"。例如:materialism(唯物主義)optimism(樂觀主義)materialist(唯物主義者)naturalist(自然主義者

1. 形容詞的用法:
形容詞用以修飾名詞,表示人或事物的特徵。在句中可以作定語、表語,用於限定被修飾語的特徵,如長短、大小、重量、顏色、高矮、胖瘦、新舊等,。
,「限定詞」包括:冠詞、物主代詞、指示代詞、或數詞,它位於各類形容詞前。它本身分為三位,即:前、中、後。前位限定詞有all、half、both、分數和倍數;中位限定詞有冠詞、指示代詞、物主代詞等;後位限定詞有基數詞和序數詞,但序數詞位於基數詞前。如:both my hands、all half his income等。「描繪」性形容詞如:beautiful、bad、cold、great等。「大長高」表示大小、長短、高低等一些詞。表示「形狀」的詞如:round square等。「國籍」指一個國家或地區的詞。「材料」的詞如:wooden, woolen, stone,silk等。「作用類別」的詞如:medical, college,writing desk,police car等。
The little girl is very pretty. 這個小女孩很好看。

2、人稱代詞:
是用來表示人的代詞,有單數和負數之分,有主格和賓格之分。人稱代詞的主格在句中作主語;人稱代詞的賓格在句中作賓語,是作動詞或介詞的賓語。
主格:I, we, you, he, she, it, they在句子中作主語
賓格:me, us, you, him, her, it, them在句子中作賓語
He and I are in the same class. 我和他在同一個班級。
Can you see them in the street? 你能看見他們在街上嗎?
3、可數名詞和不可數名詞
英語中名詞分為可數名詞和不可數名詞。凡是可數計數的名詞叫做可數名詞;凡是不可以計數的名詞叫做不可數名詞。
(1)可數名詞分為單數和復數兩種形式。可數名詞前可以用不定冠詞、數詞或some many等修飾。如:a man a desk an apple an orange some books some children tow pens
(2)不可數名詞沒有復數形式,前面不能用不定冠詞、數詞或many等詞語修飾,但可以用some a little much等詞語來修飾。有時可以與一些量詞短語搭配,這些量詞短語中的名詞一般是可數的,有單數形式,也可以有復數形式。如:some water a little milk much food a piece of bread tow bottles of ink some glasses of water
4、祈使句
祈使句用來表示請求、命令等,句中沒有主語,肯定形式由謂語或者謂語+賓語(+賓語補足語)構成,否定形式則在句前加Don』t.
Stand up, please. 請起立。
Don』t worry. 別擔心。
can的用法:
can是情態動詞,表示「能,會,可以,被允許等」,其後接動詞原形,否定形式為cannot,可縮寫為can』t.
She can speak Japanese. 她會講日語。
I can』t remember his name. 我不記得他的名字了。
Can you spell your name? 你會拼寫你的名字嗎?
5、現在進行時態:
概念:表示現在(說話瞬間)正在進行或發生的動作,也可以表示目前一段時間內或現階段正在進行的活動。
結構:由be動詞(am, is, are) + 動詞ing構成,其中be動詞要與主語保持性數一致。
Mary is flying a kite in the park. 瑪麗正在公園里放風箏。
--What are you doing now?你現在在干什麼?
--I』m reading English. 我正在讀英語。
Are they drawing the pictures now?他們正在畫畫嗎?
動詞現在分詞是動詞原形變化而來的,規則變化如下:
動詞ing形式叫動詞現在分詞,其構成如下:
1) 直接在動詞後加ing
play—playing, do—doing, talk—talking, sing--singing
2) 以不發音的字母e結尾的動詞,先去e,再加ing
make—making, write—writing, have—having, take—taking
3) 以重讀閉音節結尾的動詞且詞尾只有一個輔音字母,應雙寫這個輔音字母,再加ing
run—running, stop—stopping, put—putting, swim—swimming
注意對現在進行時態的判斷。判斷一個英語句子用什麼時態,主要看句子的時間狀語,一般說來,每種時態都有與之相對應的時間狀語。現在進行時表示現在(說話瞬間)正在進行或發生的動作。因此,這個時態最常用的時間狀語是now;但有不少句子並沒有now,只能通過提示語如look、listen等或者通過上下文來確定用現在進行時。
She is cleaning her room now. 她正在打掃房間。
Look! The girl is dancing over there. 看!那個女孩在那裡跳舞。
--Can you go and play games with me? 你能和我們一起做游戲嗎?
--Can』t you see I am doing my homework? 你沒看見我正在做作業嗎?
6、have/ has的用法:
1) 謂語動詞have表示「有」,有兩種形式:have和has,前者用於第一人稱(I, we),第二人稱(you)和第三人稱復數(they),後者用於第三人稱單數(he, she, it)或單數名詞。
I have an apple and he has two bananas. 我有一個蘋果,他有兩個香蕉。
You have a new English teacher. 你們有了一個新的英語老師。
It has two big eyes. 它有一雙大眼睛。
Julie and Jack have a nice car. 朱莉和傑克有一輛好看的車。
2) have/has句型與there be句型的比較:兩者都表示「有」,但用法不同。前者表示所屬關系,即表示「某人或某物有什麼」,而後者表示存在,表示「某地有什麼」。
They have some new books. 他們有一些新書。
There are some new books on their desks. 他們桌子上有一些新書。
She has a lot of pretty skirts. 她有很多漂亮的裙子。

By the end of this week, we』ll have finished the task.
2) 現在完成進行時
從過去一直持續到現在,沒有間斷。
漢語提示語:一直
e.g. The water has been running the whole night.
3) 過去完成時
a) said, reported, thought 等引導的間接引語中。
e.g. He missed the train. He said he had missed the train.
b) hardly…when, no sooner… than
e.g. No sooner had he got up than he received the call.
c) 與過去事實相反的虛擬語氣的條件狀語從句中
e.g. If I had tried harder, I would have won.
I wish I had done better in the exam.

•分詞:1) 伴隨狀語;2)原因狀語;3)條件狀語 4)讓步狀語;5)時間狀語
e.g. Walking along the street, he met his old friend. (時間)
Being very tired, my father didn』t go out with us. (原因)
Made by hand, the silk shirt is very expensive. (原因)
Seen from the space, the earth looks like a blue ball. (條件)
2.3 非謂語動詞,狀語從句和獨立結構
1) Having done their homework, the children began to play. (分詞作狀語)
2) After having done their homework, the children began to play. (連詞+分詞)
3) After they had done their homework, the children began to play. (狀語從句)
4) With homework done, the children began to play. (獨立結構)

2.4 非謂語動詞作定語
1) If there is no choice, there is no decision ___ (make). (to be made)

2.5 動名詞和動詞不定式
• 作主語和表語
動名詞作主語/表語表示一般、抽象的情況;動詞不定時作主語表示具體某次的情況。
e.g Rising early is good for health.
To rise early tomorrow is difficult for me.
It is difficult for me to rise early tomorrow.
My biggest wish is to go abroad.
Seeing is believing.
• 作賓語
接動名詞作賓語的動詞:
admit, acknowledge, avoid, appreciate, consider, delay, enjoy, escape, excuse, forgive, finish, include, involve, mind, put off, postpone, suggest, feel like, look forward to, be used to, be accustomed to, etc.
接動詞不定式作賓語的動詞:
want, tend, intend, pretend, hope, plan, expect, be supposed to, seem, be likely to, used to, be willing to, desire, force, prefer, start, begin

接動名詞和動詞不定式有不同含義的動詞:
1) forget, remember, regret
2) stop, continue
3) need/ want
4) allow doing/ allow sb to do
(1) How can I forget meeting you for the first time?
Sorry, I forgot to lock the door.
(2) I can』t stop laughing. Can you stop to give me a hand?
(3) The grass needs cutting. The grass needs to be cut.
(4) We don』t allow smoking here. You are not allowed to smoke here.

3. 虛擬語氣
第一大類:非真實條件下的虛擬語氣

e.g. I would rather you didn』t tell me the story now.
I would rather you had told me the story yesterday.

第三大類:從句中用should加動詞原形的虛擬語氣,其中should可省略。
1) suggest, propose, advise, move(動議), ask, order, require, request, desire, insist, prefer 等動詞後接的賓語從句;
2) suggestion, proposal, advice, motion, order, requirement, request, desire, preference等名詞後的同位語從句;
3) important, necessary, essential, imperative, desirable, advisable, preferable 等形容詞用在it is … that…句型中;
4) lest, in case, for fear that 等引導的從句中。
e.g. It is suggested that the meeting (should) be put off.
It is my suggestion that the meeting (should) be put off.
It is necessary that the meeting (should) be put off.
He came to the office earlier lest he (should) miss the important meeting.

8. had met as if 所引導的從句用過去完成式表示虛擬語氣。
9. C 與將來事實相反的虛擬語氣的主句。
10. A 從句與現在事實相反,但本身已經是現在完成時(從by now可以看出),所以變為過去完成時。

掌握語法題的要訣在於1)牢記上述表格;2)分清楚題目屬於哪種具體情況;3)熟練套用正確形式;4)最後再檢查一下是否應作必要的改動:如是否被動,三人稱動詞後加s,動詞的不規則變化等。在理解上述表格的適用條件後,再通過大量作題來鞏固,及時糾正出現的錯誤,我們一定能攻克語法難題,在語法部分得到一個理想的分數!
