好，现在可以来分析一下整个句子的组成了。
名词“意外”作主语，动词“是”作谓语，动词“可以”也只能作谓语，名词短语“避免的”当然是作宾语了，这样的“主-谓-谓-宾”的结构，在语法上是错误的。
修正：

一种简单的办法，是改成“主-谓-宾”的结构。由于有两个动词可供选择，因此也有两种方案：
