1. How much does that pen cost?
= How much is that pen?
那支筆多少錢？
我們想要問某物品多少錢時，可以用下列句型：
How much does+單數物品/ do + 復數物品 cost?
=How much is+單數物品/ are + 復數物品?
例：How much do these pencils cost?
= How much are these pencils?
回答時用：
It costs ….或 It is …
2. cost 表示「價值（多少錢）」，使用這個字時，不可以用人做主語，通常用物品，東西等做主語，表示某物品或東西價值多少。
例：The dress costs twenty dollars.
我們也可以在cost後接人，再加上金錢，表示話某人多少錢的意思。
例：This hat cost her thirty dollars.
3. That』s very expensive.
Expensive 是形容詞，表示價格昂貴的，多用來修飾物品，而不能用來修飾價錢（price）.
例：The price of the car is expensive. (錯誤)
The car is expensive.(正確)
價錢的昂貴或便宜可以用high(高)或low（低）來表示。
The price of the house is high.
= The house is expensive.
Eggs are selling at a low price.
4. Do you have anything cheaper?
句中的anything 表示任何事物的意思，與something(某事，某物)及nothing(沒有東西)均為代詞，可以用來代替事情或物品。Anything 使用於否定句及疑問句中，而something則使用於肯定句中，nothing 因本身具有否定意味，因此不可再用否定詞（not,no等）連用，以避免形成雙重否定。
例：The poor man doesn』t have nothing to eat.(錯誤)
The poor man has nothing to eat.(正確)
=The poor man doesn』t have anything to eat.
另外，當有形容詞修飾something，anything，nothing時要至於這三個詞後，不能至於其前。
例：Do you have anything important to tell me?
There is nothing nice to eat in that restaurant.
5. I』ll take it.我就把它買下了。
例：A: This book is very good. You should buy it.
B: All right. I』ll take it. = I』ll buy it.
6. change
change 做動詞意思為變化
例：The lights changed from red to green.
但在這里意思是零錢, 和money一樣是不可數名詞。
例：How much change do you have?
I have change for ten dollars.
7. Here』s the money. 錢給你。
當我們要給別人東西時，可以用下面句型：
Here』s / Here is + 單數名詞
Here』re / Here are + 復數名詞
意為「…給你」
例：Here are the books.
但更常用的一句話是Here you are. 意為給你，拿去吧。
例：Can I have a look at that shirt?
Here you are.
