21 世紀的中國是一個對外開放中國,是一個更加國際化的中國,對英語人才的培養有著更高的要求。因而,在培養小學生學習英語的目標也與過去有所不同,在小學生的英語能力培養方面更加側重於英語口語交際能力而非過去一味地學習單詞、語法、進行題海戰術來達到考試成績高分的目的。我們應當順應時代潮流的發展,在小學教育中將英語學習的培養方向轉移到口語交際上才是符合當前英語人才目的培養。
一、當前小學英語口語教學的現狀
小學階段是培養學生英語能力的關鍵時期, 而目前的英語教學中存在著許多不盡如人意的問題,忽視對學生能力的培養,無法達到良好的教學效果。一方面,英語教學氛圍不濃厚。 課堂上大多是在使用漢語進行教學活動, 不管是教師的講解還是學生的回答, 都沒有進行英語口語交流的氛圍和環境。 結果,學生口語發音不標准,錯誤多,更有甚者,一些學生不敢說或者不願意說英語, 沒有很好的語言環境進行說話與交流,存在著心理障礙。 很多學生不敢用英語進行表達自己的看法, 所以進行口語交流的機會則少。另一方面,英語口語學習的呆板性。 英語不是我們的母語,有著自身的語言環境,跟我們母語的語言環境不同。 教師在講課時沒有建立很好的語言環境,課堂上仍然是側重對英語語法、知識點的講解,為了應付考試,只是單純地讓學生進行記憶、背誦,忽視學生聽、說、讀等實際運用英語進行口語交際的能力。 這種英語口語教學的方式, 學生學到的東西是呆板的,沒有生氣的,不能進行靈活運用。
二、小學生口語交際能力差的原因分析
1.受環境因素。語言學習是和其環境密不可分的,語言環境是習得第二語言的前提,並創造了學習的快速渠道與進行語言溝通的場所。由此,學生必須在語言實踐中持續的對英語加以運用,才能夠切實提升英語口語交際能力。然而,現階段學生缺乏良好的英語語言環境,除課堂之外,在實踐中運用英語的機會相當少,導致學生中有英語口語交流方面愛好的寥寥無幾,未形成與他人用英語交流的習慣,口語交際能力止步不前。
2.受學生自身因素。一是心理素質。部分小學生心理素質差,缺乏自信。例如,部分小學生認為自身英語基礎不好,使用時語音、語調不規范,缺乏自信,不敢開口說英語,恐懼被人恥笑,長此以往,英語表達的興趣不斷消減。在離開教師幫助的情況下,部分學生表達不清晰,且害怕表達出來的句子存在語法錯誤,對語言模式的精準性過於重視,難以開口。二是小學生英語知識儲備的制約。小學階段的年齡相對較小,和外部社會接觸與溝通的次數匱乏,思維模式過於形象化,組織語言的水平差,詞彙、語法知識等儲備嚴重欠缺。三是受母語的影響。所有的語言均具備其獨立的語言習慣與語法屬性。如果想使用一種語言進行流暢的溝通,則需要在其語言的表達與思維模式的堅持上花費相當長的時間。小學生已習慣了運用漢語,在進行英語表達時普遍會在很大程度上將母語里的表達與思維模式套用其中,這實際上對其英語口語交際能力形成了很大幹擾。
三、提高小學生英語口語交際的課堂教學的對策
1.整合教材,為學生提供他們喜歡的口語交際話題。新教材對「口語交際」相關知識內容和能力培養相比較課改前的舊教材進行了一系列科學、系統的編排。但是新教材里仍不乏一些成人化、城市化的話題。《新課程標准》指出:各地區都蘊藏著自然、社會、人文等語文課程資源,要有強烈的資源意識,去努力開發,積極利用。所以,作為老師的我們應該從生活出發,重視地區差異,尊重個體差異,真正的將教材的教學要求與學生的實際情況結合起來,達到融會貫通的效果。
2.優化課堂,激發學生交際興趣。在一些缺乏教學資源的情況下,教師應備課充分,多花心思,努力為學生創設課堂情境,激發學生踴躍表達的興趣和慾望。在教學中正確引導學生,鼓勵學生積極、大膽發言,在一些學生中,有些連漢話普通話都還說不準,對於這些學生更應該加以指導和糾正。
3.主動積極培養學生的課堂責任感。口語交際課堂追求的是一種靈動的課堂氛圍。 靈動的課堂就是指最大限度地發揮學生學習的主動性和創造性,真正做到學生是課堂的主人。 口語交際的教學過程是一種動態的不斷前進和深入的過程,口語交際教學更倡導讓學生主動合作、探究地學習,課堂氣氛追求的是讓學生動心、動口、動腦,以更有效地培養學生的口語表達能力。在老師起決定作用的口語交際課堂中, 往往出現重視形式化忽視真實性、 重視個別學生的表現忽視全體參與的傾向性的表現。 學生會為了迎合老師的意願而表達觀點,這樣,口語交際也就失去了應有的價值追求。 培養學生的課堂責任感,意味著要給予學生更多的空間,讓他們擁有自主選擇交際話題的權力,自主選擇課堂形式的權力,自主思考與發言的權力。 賦予了每一位學生課堂主體的權力,才能更好地培養他們的課堂責任感。 讓學生有在課堂上自覺做好自己分內之事的心態, 有對其他同學和老師的許諾認真負責、堅決執行的態度。
4.建設一支專業化的口語教師隊伍,提升小學生的英語口語交際能力。由於大多數教師雖然從事英語教學多年並有著非常豐富的教學經驗,但他們可能來自非英語專業或者並為經過專業化的口語訓練,他們的口語發音有著這樣或者那樣的問題從而導致小學生的問題發音等現象。建立一支專業化的口語教師隊伍,從外引進英語專業人才教師或者將學校里的英語教師進行統一培訓,培訓合格者方可教英語口語這門課程,如此一來,英語教師的整體素質得到很大的提升,小學生們也有了更加專業化的教師對他們進行口語教學,引進的教師將會用更加先進的教學方法對小學生們進行口語訓練,在口語發音上能夠糾正他們以前一些不正確的發音方式,讓他們以更正確的方式開展他們的英語口語訓練,從而在一定程度上提升他們的英語口語交際能力。
5.多利用課外活動時間鍛煉學生的口語交際能力。在開展課外活動時除了開設各種體育活動項目,還可以加一項口語訓練。在口語訓練中讓學生輪流講述自己認為有意義的事或是感興趣的事,或者就平時的所見所聞進行講述。 師生的相互交流不僅可以優化師生關系,更能讓學生喜歡上口語交際,喜歡和老師交流,而教師在這一過程中就可以更多的對學生加以指導,從而提高學生的口語交際能力。
