應試者學習時還應多聽一些相關的聽力材料，學習連讀以及重音、節奏、語調等。另外， 一級口試考生應認識到在初學英語階段發音中帶有母語口音，表達過程有停頓都屬正常現象，他們應保持信心堅持下去，同時還要學習一些維持交流或進行交流補救的技巧。
口語的復習要做好兩方面的內容。第一，口語技能的訓練，包括 20種交際話題和20種英語交際功能。第二，在復習中還要培養心理素質，比如進行模擬訓練。在模擬訓練中不要把主考教師想像成敵人。我們應該知道，幾乎所有的主考老師都非常友好，都希望你成功。應做到盡量放鬆，把自己的每一個動作、行為都視為正常的行為。不要 為自己第一次出現的停頓而感到緊張，而要集中精力想一下自己要說什麼樣的內容。否則，就可能出現越來越多的停頓而使考試無法進行。
