考試進行中
1．口試開始前
考生首先進入的是候考室，在進入候考室之前考生必須先出示相關證件（即身份證、准考證）給工作人員，工作人員核實後並由本人在考生登記薄簽名後方可進入候考室。考生進入候考室後要對號入座。在考生全部進入候考室後，工作人員會給每位考生一張口試計分卡。然後由考生根據本人實際情況將計分卡填寫完整，待正式進入口試考場時交給口試教師。在填寫口試計分卡的時候，一定要小心不要填錯了。待正式考試開始時，工作人員會按考號叫考生進入口試考場，每次叫兩名考生（如這個考區考生人數為單數，最後一組將有三名考生，順序為循環式）。因此考生最好能在口試正式開始前能與自己的搭檔（partner）進行初次交流，以便在口試中能互相合作、共創佳績。值得一提的是，當你的考場有缺考的考生時，有可能你原定的partner會發生改變。因此，當你在候考室等待時一定不要閑著，應隨時注意自己的partner是否改變了。
當考生被叫到口試考場時，你需要把自己的一切東西全部帶走，因為你考過之後是不被允許再進候考室的。當口試考場中的考生從後門走出考場時，你和你的partner就必須進入考場了。記住一定不要緊張，要面帶微笑。應平靜地坐在口試教師示意你坐的地方，坐下的時候要自然，坐姿要端正。坐下後，考官會跟你說如下三句話：
Could you pass me your mark sheet please? （麻煩你遞給我你的記分卡？）
May I have your name? （我能知道你的名字嗎？）
My name is…, and this is… she/he will only listen to us. （我是……，這位是……，他/她只負責聽我們說話。）
三句話次序可能會顛倒，但不妨礙大家聽懂意思。這個時候也同樣出現了我們說的「見縫插針」，對不說話的考官的一個示好的動作，記得說上一句：Good to see you.
你須將口試計分卡交給專事評分的老師，然後老師會確認一下計分卡上的信息。隨後口試考試正式開始。
2．口試過程中
（1）與口試教師或同伴對話時要保持目光接觸，保持自然恰當的表情、手勢和形體動作。
（2）作為考生，你應該積極主動，多講話，切忌一語不發地等著，問一句才答一句（當然也不要說起來沒完沒了）。對於一般疑問句的問題不要只答「Yes」、「No」，要把句子說完整，把一般疑問句改換成肯定句式，並適當加以簡要的解釋，不一定非要等到口試教師追問「why」時，再說話。
（3）在Part B部分要特別注意兩點：一是口試教師是不參與討論的，互動交際在你和另一位考生之間進行，你應該與他／她互相問答、討論和交換看法，說話的時候應該面對的是他／她而不是口試教師；二是你和另一位考生都是來參加考試的，在討論發言中應保持基本的機會均等。由於是臨時組成的搭檔，你與對方的英語水平可能會不同，如果他／她為了顯示自己的水平、獲得高分而不停地說，你要搶回自己的發言機會，因為兩位口試教師是根據你的參與程度和英語表達評分的。你可以尋找機會，使用得體的交際語言打斷同伴的發言，如「I』m sorry，but I have to interrupt」 「Excuse me，I have to stop you」 「Sorry，I think...」。當然，如果你的同伴比較沉默，你也不要自顧自地說下去，讓口試教師因你的「霸道」而扣你的分數。你可以用某些特定的語句啟發你的同伴開口發言，這樣才是良好的交流。這類語句有「This is my point of view．What do you think」 「Do you agree with me」 「That』s my point．What』s your opinion」等。
（4）考試中應選擇自己熟悉的東西或事情來說，否則可能會由於缺乏恰當的詞彙而給自己造成麻煩。比如說如果需要回答或描述電視節目或者體育運動方面的問題或圖片，選擇一種比較容易表述的電視節目或體育運動要比選擇你真正喜歡而描述難度比較大的節目或運動現實得多。
（5）回答問題或描述圖片內容時要切題，不要說與題目內容無關、意義不大的話。
（6）考試過程當中，面部表情要與口中所說的內容相符合，該嚴肅的時候嚴肅、該活潑的時候活潑，否則就會很生硬，給人以背書的感覺。
3．口試結束之後
口試結束後，你應當用英語分別向兩位口試教師道謝和告別，我們說過，這個時候是第三個見縫插針對不說話的考官示好的地方，給他們留下一個完整的好印象。因為是快結束了，很多考生就放鬆警惕了，在道謝和告別的時候往往就用起了中文，這是很嚴重的錯誤，切忌全程考試都要用英語進行，不要在最後一刻功虧一簣。可以跟考官建立良好的最終印象，比如：Thank you so much. Have a nice day. 表示對於考官辛勤工作的肯定。切忌在此時犯一些小錯誤，比如問考官分數，對於自己剛才考試的表現不滿意而產生的一些不雅用語都是考生們需要注意的地方。當然出了考場就可以歡天喜地等待合格證寄到家裡了。我們的口語考試也就圓滿結束了。
