1、自我介紹。學生剛進校，彼此之間都很陌生，需要進行相互了解，作個自我介紹是很有必要的。學生在自我介紹時，老師要提前告訴他們介紹的內容，方法，並要求他們盡量做到形式新穎，內容豐富，有特點，有個性，要富有吸引力，在你的介紹後讓大家都能記住你，切忌人雲亦雲。有個同學這樣介紹的，我至今還記憶猶新：「有一隻丑小鴨，從出生的那一天起，爸爸、媽媽、爺爺、奶奶、叔叔、小姨……都不喜歡她，因為她是一個小女孩，她好想有一天也變成一隻白天鵝，在天空里自由的飛翔……」

老師們都有這樣的評價，學生們在小學階段天真無邪，不會害羞，對老師的課堂提問表現得非常熱烈。而到了初中，變得害羞起來，含蓄起來，連課前的師生問好也越來越小聲。課堂上的提問更是沒有一點氣氛，以躲開老師的視線不被叫到為幸，哪怕是自己知道答案也不喜歡表現。難道這是不可改變的事實嗎？我認為，一個人的膽量是逼出來的，當全班每個人都接到必須上台演講的任務時，他們已無可選擇。因此，當他們硬著頭皮，戰戰兢兢完成了第一次演講後，我給他們以表揚性的點評，又煽動同學們善意的掌聲鼓勵，他們的信心就更足了，會為下一次的機會准備得更好，一次、二次之後，同學們的課前演講、課堂回答問題，都比以前踴躍多了。原來人人都有表現欲，都想當眾施展才華。是「三分鍾課前演講」活動為他們創造了表現口才的平台，使他們的膽量得到了鍛煉，有一位膽小靦腆的同學在日記上寫道：「從小學到現在，我從來沒有也不敢站在台上講話，老師也很少提問我，但這『三分鍾課前演講』活動，使我驚喜地發現，原來我也可以做到，我也可以做好，以後我會做得更好！」
二、有利於學生語言表達能力的提高。
「三分鍾課前演講」活動，是學生在課上的一種有組織的活動，是一種表現個人能力，特別是語言表達能力的嘗試活動。在這個活動中，教師是配角，是指導者、是聽眾，或者說是導演，學生是主角、演講者、演員，雖是短短的三分鍾，但他們要把一個故事、一個成語或一句名言完整地准確地表達出來，需要課前充分的准備活動：查找資料、組織文字、熟記於心等，因此，課前演講是系統而行之有效的口語訓練。
三、有利於學生觀察問題、分析問題能力的提高。
常言道：「處處留心皆學問」、 「悟性就在你的腳下」，同學們在准備演講稿的過程中，為了能搜集有意義的題材，在同學們面前露一手，隨時隨地地收集、分析、總結所見所聞，這就鍛煉了他們觀察問題和思考分析問題的能力。如：一位同學在看了《南京大屠殺》資料後，發表看法，認為原因有三： 1 、清朝政府的閉關自守政策使中國軍事、經濟等落後。 2 、日本軍國主義的侵略野心。 3 、中國國民黨的不抵抗政策；再如：一位同學發現有人竟將吃完飲料後的玻璃瓶摔碎樓道上後，就仿照美國詩人喬治 · 珀金斯 · 莫里斯的詩《樵夫，別砍那棵樹》，寫了一首詩《同學，別扔那玻璃瓶》，博得同學們的掌聲。又如：當老師規定 10 — 20 號的同學搜集有關家鄉風情的題材時，他們竟能形成學習小組，分工、合作，分別在飲食、風俗等向同學們介紹，使我們這些學生原來對家鄉知識的一知半解變為更系統的了解，增長了不少見識。
四、有利於學生的語文積累，提高語文素養。
對學生精心准備的演講，我帶頭拿起筆在學生成績冊空白處記下來，並鼓勵同學們做好記錄，養成積累的習慣，這對於演講者來說也更是一種尊重。如：一次名言警句的演講結束後，我把同學們演講的名言歸在一張有他們座號和姓名的成績統計表上，印發給同學們做留念，當他們看到自己姓名後面自己推介的名言後，都嘗到成功的喜悅，都為自己在班上的表現而高興、信心百倍。演講內容通過多樣化題材的訓練，同學們談社會，談理想，講興趣，講故事，說笑話，評時政，從而啟發了同學們的心智，開闊了同學們的視野，擴大了同學們的知識面，提高了同學們的語文素養。
五、有利於調節課堂氣氛，實現師生互動。
短短的三分鍾小演講，不但不會浪費上課時間，反而極大地活躍了課堂氣氛。在全面推行素質教育的今天，要求改革基礎教育的課堂結構模式，變傳統的授課式為課堂多元式，壓縮老師講授在課堂所佔的比例，增加學生活動在課堂所佔的比重。「三分鍾課前演講」活動，除一位演講者外，師生們都做這個小老師的忠實聽眾，課堂上多了掌聲，學生的表現欲得到滿足，其他同學看到這種情形都躍躍欲試，正所謂「磨刀不誤砍柴工」。在三分鍾後的上課時間，氣氛活躍，同學們對老師的問題是積極思考暢所欲言，課堂上師生的雙邊活動大大的加強。有些同學說：「假如我課前精神不佳，想睡覺，或情緒不好，欲走神，經過『三分鍾』的熱烈氣氛誘導，好似注了一針興奮劑，情緒馬上振奮，使我能認認真真地上完每節語文課。」
六、有利於師生心靈溝通，提高學習語文的積極性。
在調查學生對「三分鍾課前演講」活動的反響時，有一位班幹部說：「課前演講是心靈之橋，是多彩三分鍾。」這名字起得不錯。事實上，它也溝通了教師和學生的心靈，當老師點評同學所講內容，發表看法時，學生們就了解了老師的心態及老師的觀點看法。老師通過聽同學們的演講，也知曉了他們對人生、對友誼、對社會的態度，處理所遇問題的思路。肯定他們的正確觀點，幫助他們糾正錯誤看法，這樣，師生們的心就拉近了，所謂「親其師，信其道。」師生之間心靈的接近，也是信任的基礎，工作的基礎，在語文教學上，我這個語文教師就顯得有號召力了，學生們學起語文來就更有興趣了。如有一次，我給 21 號至 25 號的同學定題：談談關於上網利弊的問題。有四個學生旗幟鮮明地說上網有百害而無一利。我當時嘀咕，是為了討老師和同學的贊揚吧！另外一位學生卻說：上網有益！現代學生心理壓力大，當我心情郁悶時，可以點擊滑鼠，進入游戲，隨便找個人「殺」了，那種快樂是不上網的人體會不到的。他們演講後我並未立即點評，任同學們掌聲胡亂地拍。隨後我說：「現代社會，網路已進入千家萬戶，成為人們文化生活不可缺少的一部分，它給我們帶來很多方便，但對於中學生來說，上網有利，也有害。如上網查找學習資料，看看電影娛樂等是有益的。如果上網只為了玩游戲，尤其是暴力游戲，上了癮，那是有害的。前四位同學一口抹殺上網的好處，不見得明智。後一位同學，我勸告你，別『中毒』了，玩些益智游戲可以，但須有節制，如果你陷入虛擬的境界里享受快感，難以解脫，把游戲中『殺人』的心理拿到現實生活中來模擬嘗試，豈不是太危險了嗎？所以，對於中學生上網來說，最大的禁忌就是上網成癮，沒有自我控制的能力。」同學們聽後對上網有了明確的認識，我還因勢利導，有時還會出些作業讓他們上網搜集資料解答，這樣，對語文教學有了很大的幫助，提高了學習語文的積極性。
演講可以鍛煉你交際能力，還可以鍛煉你的勇氣，演講是將給許多人聽得，一般要有勇氣。如果是即時演講的話，更可以鍛煉你的思維反應速度，會對許多學生的弱項—作文有很大的提高。
