這個可以參考我們的電影語速和生活中語速的對比。差不多的。外國人之所以說的比我們快是因為他們經常用連讀和省略。像going to=gonna,want to =wanna,上個答案也給出了連讀的例子。還有就是一些詞的弱讀，只帶口型不發音的。練速度和准確度可以參照下面的：（注意：讀的過程中遇到不認識的單詞直接跳過） 速讀法
這里的「讀」指的是朗讀，是用嘴去讀，而不是用眼去看，顧名思義，「速讀」也就是快速的朗讀。
這種訓練方法的目的，是在於鍛煉人口齒伶俐，語音準確，吐字清晰。
方法：找來一篇演講辭或一篇文辭優美的散文。先拿來字典、詞典把文章中不認識或弄不懂的字、詞查出來，搞清楚，弄明白，然後開始朗讀。一般開始朗讀的時候速度較慢，逐次加快，一次比一次讀得快，最後達到你所能達到的最快速度。
要求：讀的過程中不要有停頓，發音要准確，吐字要清晰，要盡量達到發聲完整。因為如果你不把每個字音都完整的發出來，那麼，如果速度加快以後，就會讓人聽不清楚你在說些什麼，快也就失去了快的意義。我們的快必須建立在吐字清楚、發音干凈利落的基礎上。我們都聽過體育節目的解說專家宋世雄的解說，他的解說就很有「快」的功夫。宋世雄解說的「快」，是快而不亂，每個字，每個音都發得十分清楚、准確，沒有含混不清的地方。我們希望達到的快也就是他的那種快，吐字清晰，發音準確，而不是為了快而快。
速讀法的優點是不受時間、地點的約束，無論在何時、何地。只要手頭有一篇文章就可以練習。而且還不受人員的限制，不需要別人的配合，一個人就可以獨立完成。當然你也可以找一位同學聽聽你的速讀練習，讓他幫助挑你速讀中出現的毛病。比如哪個字發音不夠准確，那個地方吐字還不清晰，等等，這樣就更有利於你有目的地進行糾正、學習。你還可以用錄音機把你的速讀錄下來，然後自己聽一聽，從中找出不足，進行改進。如果有老師指導就更好了
