Mr Perkin's New Car
Mr Perkin stood at the bus-stop and watched the cars go by. Many of the cars

作為一名執教畢業班多年的英語教師,我發現提高學生的英語閱讀理解能力至關重要。一方面,英語閱讀在英語測試中占的分值很高。不管是完型填空、補全短文還是短篇的短文理解,都要求學生有很好的英語閱讀理解能力。閱讀理解能力強與否決定著英語考試的成敗;另一方面,閱讀是在英語學習中要求學生掌握的四種基本技能之一。北京市特級教師王英民說過:「不會閱讀就不會學英語,閱讀是基礎,沒有閱讀,就不會有很好的聽力,沒有閱讀,就更談不上寫作。」英語閱讀能提高讀者的認識能力,從而促進其他三種技能(聽、說和寫)能力的提高。閱讀也能使人增長見識,拓寬視野。但是在教學中發現,許多學生在閱讀方面存在著困難,不知道正確的閱讀方法。本篇文章將從三個方面出發,主要闡述用什麼樣的方法來增長語言知識,養成良好的閱讀習慣,應該注意哪些閱讀技巧,進而提高中學生的英語閱讀能力,提高閱讀效率。
一、盡可能多的記憶英語單詞,增加自己的詞彙量
掌握一定數量的單詞是提高閱讀理解能力的前提。如果有大量的生疏的單詞,英語短文閱讀起來難度很大。所以掌握一定數量的單詞是學生提高英語閱讀能力的前提和保證。在農村中學,由於受到特定環境的制約和影響,學生在記憶單詞方面面臨著很大的困難。尤其現行的牛津英語的教材詞彙量擴大了不少,記憶的難度就更大了。記憶單詞的方法有很多種,在教學中我經常使用的有以下幾種:
1.詞彙表「八到」記憶法
這是中學生使用最多的方法之一,即將生詞表和人的器官相結合:眼裡看到、心裡想到、手裡寫到、嘴裡拿到、耳朵聽到、(結合實物還可以)鼻子嗅到、舌頭嘗到、手指觸到。學生在記憶時不要偷懶,一定要邊記邊比劃,把各個器官充分調動起來。這種方法使學生把目標詞彙與自己的大腦神經聯系,易記憶深刻,印象持久。
2.分類記憶法
即分析單詞的形態,將所要記得單詞根據其義、形、音進行分類。例如,按音標的拼讀規則記憶單詞,按詞性變化記憶單詞,按同音記憶單詞,教師還可教給學生關於英語詞根和詞綴的知識等;通過詞根加前綴或後綴可派生出新的單詞,將兩個或更多的詞放在一起,可合成新的單詞。
3.聯想記憶法
蘇聯著名心理學家巴甫洛夫指出:「記憶要依靠聯想,而聯想則是新舊正式建立聯系的產物。」美國心理學家威廉·詹姆士也說:「記憶的秘訣就是根據我們想記住的各種材料來進行各種各樣的聯想,而這些聯想就成了各種資料的釣鉤,萬一資料沉沒腦海,我們就可以通過聯想這樣的釣鉤將資料鉤出來。」充分運用發散思維展開自己的想像力,使所要記憶的英語單詞,生動、形象和具體化,使生詞與熟詞之間建立一種聯系,從而達到以舊帶新,快速記憶的目的。
除了記憶生詞表內的詞彙外,學生對於課外的詞彙尤其是熱門詞彙、新詞彙要知道意思。在閱讀材料時,常常會出現一些最新詞彙和縮寫等,如果不清楚,很可能影響對全文的理解。
二、 在平時教學中,注重培養學生的英語閱讀興趣
剛開始時,由於受各種原因的影響,學生對英語文章存在著一定的心理負擔和畏難情緒。教師要定期對學生進行一定量的訓練,一日一篇短文,用「蠶食」的方式來逐步訓練學生。在選材時,文章體裁多樣化,涉及面要廣,趣聞性要強。除了課本中的閱讀材料,教師還應該收集一些與學生水平相當、難度不太大、貼近學生生活、讓學生易感興趣的文章作為課外閱讀訓練材料。例如,可以使用一些關於西方國家風土人情、節日禮儀等方面的文章,還可以使用關於外國校園生活、笑話、寓言故事等文章。在學生讀後,要求他們做一定的習題,或寫出內容概要,這樣既可以提高學生英語閱讀理解能力,又可以訓練他們的口語、書寫能力。
在學生的英語閱讀達到一定水平後,教師可結合考試常見的閱讀題型,如說明文、科普文章等,讓其練習。對學生遇到的困難要鼓勵他們認真思考,推敲,要學會結合上下文理解文章的意思。可定期舉辦一些英語閱讀競賽,提供閱讀材料,要求學生在規定的時間內完成閱讀,要充分肯定他們的成績,讓他們感到一定的成功感。
三、 教會學生正確的閱讀方法,明確目的,提高做題正確率
我們閱讀的目的是為了從材料中獲取有用的相關的信息,目的不同,題目要求不同,我們閱讀的方法也不同,主要方法和技巧有以下幾點:
1.如若學生只想知道文章的主旨和中心意思,只需要瀏覽或略讀即可
在閱讀時,重點讀文章的首句(段)和末句(段)。因為文章的中心思想和主要意思或事情的結果大都是在文章的開頭或結尾的。
2.如若學生想對文章的具體細節進行了解,就要進行精讀
逐句逐段進行閱讀,了解事件發生的開始、經過、結果,這對於掌握具體事實的細節有很大的幫助。
3.如果篇幅過大,故事性不強,時間又有限,學生可根據訓練題目來進行有目的的選讀
4.在閱讀過程中,難免會遇到不熟悉或不認識的生詞,影響理解
若是不重要的詞彙,要求他們可以不要理會,若影響文章的理解,學生們可以結合上下文進行推敲、猜測。用這種方法,有時可以幫助文章的理解。
除了注意閱讀方法,在平時訓練的時候,還要注意閱讀習慣和時間的合理分配。有的學生習慣出聲閱讀,還有的學生習慣用手指或筆指著閱讀,都是不可取的。在很多情況下,尤其是考試的時候,既打擾別人,也耽誤時間。學生要養成默讀的習慣,在閱讀時,要心無雜念,擴大視幅,減少回視。將精力全部集中在閱讀的材料上,節約時間。教師在平時練習的時候,也可給學生限定時間,要求他們在規定時間內完成,盡量少查或不查詞典,加快閱讀節奏,為在考試中取得好的閱讀成績打下基礎。

如何提高英語閱讀理解能力?很多人,包括同學和別人的家長,都問過我,你怎麼學英語的啊,英語那麼好。面對這樣的問題,我從來不能回答出個123來,因為其實要說是應試,我的能力不能算很好的,只能算是較好的,因為很多語法啊、規則啊什麼的,我一個都記不住。為什麼我還能得到一個較高的分數,為什麼我上英語課很輕松,做題目基本無障礙呢?我只有一個解釋:因為我有語感。
有人曾經問到:外國人說英語會不會犯錯?他的意思是英語母語的人說母語英語會不會也犯錯。回答是:廢話!幾個中國人能不說錯每一句中文?說什麼中文最難學那都是P話,你在中國長大,你從小就在培養中文的語感,你還敢說什麼中文難,要犯錯,還有臉和我吵說我英語天煞的這么好居然還能搞出幾個最高分來就是不愛國了,說什麼自己是中國人不用學外語了(因為他們學不會),都是胡扯!bullshit !語言專家是人人都能成的么?
②中文難,不是說它難學,是它的語法、規則等那些怪東西難得完全搞懂!這就是中國人老是喜歡犯錯的原因。你能說句有語病的話,有錯詞的話,有發音不對的話,有成語用錯的話,別人不會笑你說錯了,很大的可能是他自己都沒搞懂這些正確的是什麼,因為我們自己有自己母語的語感,所以就是你說錯了,別人基本也能懂你的意思!經歷過高三的都明白(沒認真學習的無視我吧),高三語文最頭疼的就是基本知識,早自習做死的記啊記,記什麼呢,字、詞、意、音等。這個要花相當大的時間訓練,因為高考語文前5題是最頭疼也是最關鍵的5個題目:字音辨析、錯別字辨析、成語使用不恰當的是哪一個、有(或沒有)語病的是哪一個,最後一個是純語感題,選出最適合填寫在橫線上的部分使整句含義最完整。誰敢吹牛皮說你是中國的就能把高考語文的前5個「不起眼的小學生才做的」基礎題全做對?專家除外的。好吧你注意看看,很簡單的一個中文語法規則,關於三個de字,的,得,地 的用法區別,很多人都喜歡搞混,那麼那些牛皮哄哄人是連自己小學都不能解決的蠢材吧?如果有人告訴你「人們津津樂道地談論著乘坐高鐵出行帶來的快捷與方便」這句話里的津津樂道是錯用了,你知道錯在哪兒不?(今年2010屆的高考語文第三題。)
③說這么多,無非就是給你傳達一個意思:我們學外語,只能從語法開始學,開始就晦澀難懂;而外國人他們不用開始就這么注意語法的學習,因為他們有語感! 你這個句子說不出或者說錯是怎麼了?照著語法嚴格來的吧?語法很難吧,因為是要記憶的,規則頗多,英語又是特殊規則出奇的多,難得找到完全能套公式的規則,你只能單個去記(比如比規則形式變化的詞等)。
④懂了沒?重要的是要有語感。經常說的一句話是:興趣是最好的老師,我不否認,因為我最初初一就是因為這樣的興趣(小學時就有了的)而英語單科相當的突出(眾所周知初中程度的是相當簡單的,跟高中的難度比不得啊)。由此導致了我的興趣突出,意向突出,英語課也很有興趣,什麼任務都不覺得是種累贅而是種享受,什麼作業都不覺得是種負擔而是種鞏固,什麼考試都不覺得是個難關而是個展現自己能力的好機會。越是有興趣就越是學得好越是有信心就越是有興趣——良性循環開始了。自然而然的,語感來了,來的比別人快的多,於是經常出現的情況是語法我不懂,但是我就是有種感覺這個句子要這么寫,這個規則我忘記了,但是我就是知道這個地方要這樣填,你問我是為什麼或者是怎麼樣我是絕對說不出個結果的,我只有直覺!但是就是這種直覺能讓我是解題速度比按照規則套著「公式」來的人要快速。而且幾乎是不需要太多的思考,達到了小程度的李陽追求的「脫口而出」!!!這就是成就,這信心就更足!
⑤我在日常中是怎樣不自覺地去做的呢?這里就是總結給你一些方法,學英語的,我自己都差點偏題偏成了中文研究了……前提:要有一定的興趣或者信念或者信心或者目的等等什麼的,強迫自己去做不喜歡的事你還不如去好好做好自己喜歡的事,如果你是為了應試,沒有英語的興趣,請你放棄,但不是完全放棄,這個技能要修,但是不是你主要用來打怪的技能,就不要浪費你有限的技能點!多弄點技能點去投入你有興趣的學的好的很輕松的科目比如數學啊什麼的,要清楚自己的能力和實用性在哪裡,不要犯傻,自己要張眼睛,自己要學會判斷!強扭的瓜不甜!首先,課本一定要通讀,老師要你背誦的盡量去背出來,老師會害你么?他還不是希望你能有成就,所以老師的建議還是多採納吧,就算他要你背一些很簡單的課文也不要嫌麻煩,要你背誦很長一篇也不要怕不能,語感正是這樣來的!你能閉著眼睛背的出來的英語句子一多,很多感覺自己就紮根了,下次遇到這樣有關的題目,你還需要思考嗎?有感覺了,直接選就成了!(當然高考前的那段時間的強化復習,英語單選我都要小心了因為凈是陷阱很多感覺都能敗下陣來所以語法還是要學好規則還是要識記)。其次,筆記一定要做好,就算你上課不想聽,也要起碼機械地做好筆記,就算你去神遊了,下課了借筆記補好,那都是老師教學經驗的精華,很多東西都是很有用的今後也會陸續遇到的,所以筆記完善了,復習時,說不定頓時大有收獲,其中也會包含很多語法規則,記不住的,起碼用筆記下,臨時需要了看看都成啊!好記性不如爛筆頭!再次,平時多聽聽英語歌,看看英語原聲的電影,有機會多和說英語的人交流,進入那種不得不說英語的環境強迫自己用英語的思維思考,雖然中國幾乎不可能有那個環境,這個可以無視。英語的歌曲和電影中有很多地道的英語,多了就能培養語感,當然現在的水平你去用英文電影練聽力純粹是浪費時間,不解釋,不是鄙視,事實如此,我都不會做那種蠢事,最多是看著字幕聽聽原音聽得懂了就用自己的翻譯作數聽不懂就照他的字幕來。最後,還是回到我前提中所說的,要你自己來判斷了,類似的問題我從來不給別人給出十分肯定的定義或者判斷,我會按情況分析,然後讓你們自己決定,因為畢竟情況都不同,我又不知道你是怎樣的情況,這就是對症下葯,你自己還需要怎樣的強化就照著那條路走,感覺不對了回來重來就是,在生活中多給自己點選擇的餘地,給自己創造機會,不要把自己給逼死過去了,除非你不想活了……你覺得還有什麼地方要重點訓練的,就集中了,單詞容量不夠的想辦法多記,語法不好的多看課文看筆記問高手問老師,基礎不好的多做單選題然後給老師看你的不足讓他給你意見;完形做不好的專門找這個題目多訓練,同時要看攻略,這個題目有很強的技巧性的,有些書會介紹的,我們高考前發的英語報有一期都是專門介紹這個方法的,還有很多發的練習冊的閱讀部分都有解題技巧這些內容,多看多記多練多問;其他的我就不多說了,你自己應該要自己作主了,我只能給你個方向,錄要怎麼走,走哪條,自己的事了哈。當你自己有能力以後,依賴,絕不是好辦法!
⑥最後,你是不是開始疑惑,我都是說些很基本的內容,而跟你要問的提高英語閱讀理解能力很不相幹了,特別是你遇到的是長句,你想弄通長句,那麼我只能告訴你,循序漸進,心急吃不了熱豆腐!你的那長難句是高考中喜歡弄出來的東西,有難度,正是這樣,才更仰賴你的基礎扎不扎實。地基打好了,樓房才能修的足夠高。長難句怎麼辦?除了那樣按照它的組成拆出來(這是按照學習語法的辦法),另一個更優越的辦法就是語感。按照上面的辦法(不是讓你按那個順序來,你也不會有時間的,自己把握,需要哪些用哪些)來培養語感,長難句還算個P啊。也許這也是我語言普遍學的好的原因,中英日法西,其中那日語,就是純粹是看了幾年動漫,聽原聲(因為中文配音的基本都能讓人起雞皮疙瘩),於是有了日語語感了,然後從平常的動漫對話中居然就把它的語法部分詞彙和片語給弄明白了,因為聽多了,並且又有興趣,感覺就來了,就學好了。
最後的最後,你不要看這么長這么多,其實作為閱讀的人,這個分量不算多,很快能看完,可是作為寫的人,我可是花了將近一個小時哇,或者是多餘一個小時了,你好意思只給我5分?不加分的么,以資鼓勵哇,那才有動力哇!今後你有難題了來個幾十分,害怕沒人看么……嘻嘻,開個玩笑,不過的確很花時間,闡述我的全部觀點了。要組織適合的語言,禮貌規范,沒有錯別字或者病句,要排版,寫得有邏輯性有條理性有說服力,很花時間,特別是你那個翻譯,花了比較多的時間。因為我純粹是感覺了,有些感覺我無法轉化成簡明易懂的文字,只能是我自己懂了。這就是說,相信你自己,自己的是最適合自己的,因為你自己才是最接近你自己的人,你自己才是最可能透徹了解你自己的人,你自己才最有可能知道自己缺什麼,需什麼,要走什麼路,要用什麼法。自己的辦法,才是最好的辦法。

㈨ 案例:如何培養初中生做英語閱讀理解的興趣

一、閱讀理解題以其內容多樣性,形式靈活性,難易不可捉摸性,使得很多學生對其產生了強烈的恐懼感,從而態度馬虎,導致正確率較低,從而陷入了一個死胡同。
二、做閱讀理解題需要耗費大量的時間,把閱讀理解題講解到位更需要時間和精力,所以往往在課時較緊張的情況下,老師把這部分時間壓縮下來,擠更多時間鞏固課內知識。
三、由於每次的閱讀理解題包含很多生詞,很多同學不能理解其含義,於是就對這一題型失去信心,對於自身能力的提高也降低要求了。
如何培養學生做英語閱讀理解的興趣,如何端正學生的做題態度,如何提高其做題效率呢?下面我談一下我個人的一些看法:
一、閱讀理解內容的選擇技巧。
在七年級的時候,最好選擇較短,較易理解,故事性強的文章。學生做了之後有成就感,自然而然對於閱讀不再畏懼,從而產生興趣。等學生嘗到「甜頭」之後,再慢慢加長篇幅,加大難度。為了照顧大部分的學生,這可以是一個循序漸進的過程。在文章主題的選擇上,盡量選擇貼近當代生活的熱點話題以及學生的校園生活,比如:最近上映的影片,校園生活,旅遊等。當學生對於文章的主題是熟悉的,難度自然而然會降低很多,同時也會帶著興趣去做。
二、閱讀理解方法的指導策略。
可鼓勵學生採用3S1C的方法:第一步,先讓學生Skim(略讀) 文章,了解文章大意。第二步,帶著閱讀理解後面的題目去Search information(搜索原文中的信息)。第三步,根據搜索到的信息Solve(解決)待解決的問題。第四步,做好整張考卷之後再進行Check(檢查)。因為第一次做閱讀理解的題往往由於思路的局限對於題解過程造成一定的牽絆,當第二次面對同樣的題目,可能會豁然開朗或者有不同的想法。所以check這一步顯得尤為重要。
