如今那位無名雕工早已了無蹤影，然而他那令人震撼的生命精神卻保存下來。
在這里，時光不是分毫不曾消逝么？

時光對於人，其實就是生命的過程。當生命走到終點，不一定消失得沒有痕跡，有時它還會轉化為另一種形態存在或再生。母與子的生命的轉換不就在延續著整個人類嗎？再造生命，才是最偉大的生命奇跡。而此中，藝術家們應是最幸福的一種。惟有他們能用自己的生命去再造一個新的生命。小說家再造的是代代相傳的人物；作曲家再造的是他們那個可以聽到的迷人而永在的靈魂。
此刻，我的眸子閃閃發亮，視野開闊，房間里的一切藝術珍品都一點點地呈現。它們不是被燭光照亮，而是被我陡然覺醒的心智召喚出來的。
其實我最清晰和最深刻的足跡，應是書桌下邊，水泥的地面上那兩個被自己的雙足磨成的淺坑。我的時光只有被安頓在這里，它才不會消失，而被我轉化成一個個獨異又鮮活的生命，以及一行行永不褪色的文字。然而我一年裡把多少時光拋入塵囂，或是支付給種種一閃即逝的虛幻的社會場景，甚至有時屬於自己的時光反成了別人的恩賜。檢閱一下自己創造的人物吧，掂量他們的壽命有多長。藝術家的生命是用他藝術的生命計量的。每個藝術家都有可能達到永恆，放棄掉的只能是自己。是不是？
