樓上的說法不完全正確。
他說的網頁的題見下：

12. If your car ______ any attention ring the first 12 months, take it to an authorized dealer.

A.will need B.would need C.needs D.is needing

很顯然，四個選項中沒有should need。
但是兩個題的考點是不一樣的。
虛擬就在於你針對什麼情況虛擬，
上題根據選項而言，只有C。表示現實真實的條件句。
就像這樣一個句子：
if you smoke too much, it does harm to your health.
smoke 用原型，因為這只是一個簡單的真實、現在的條件句

而樓主所說的題目，是考查虛擬語氣的
答案是B
句子的含義和選項告訴我們，這是對未來的情況作一假設：如果在未來的12個月內，你的車要檢修……
對未來的假設用should。後面的主句用祈使句，整個句子我們叫做混合條件句。

兩個都不能用would，因為這是表示對過去的假設，或者與事實相反的假設

這就是越來越流行的「語境題目」

反正我看到題的第一眼，就選了should
如果沒有should
我才會考慮是否有原型

樓主現在應該已經很清楚了 但是還是說一下嘿嘿 樓主只截取這一句話是很難判專斷的 但是這句話句首有一個屬BUT 也就是說內容跟前面相反 後面接著說這並不意味著環保主義者是反科學的 說明前面應該是在說什麼什麼是反科學的，最後又說但是去年5月發表的us news 卻似乎是這樣暗示的 連起來就是這句話之前說的是應該是有關反科學的 作者又表明態度說環保主義者不在此列 後面又說這個雜志卻似乎是這樣暗示的 顯而易見就是在暗諷這個雜志胡說八道 所以雜志應該認為環保主義者是反科學的 不知道這樣說是不是清楚 如果有什麼錯誤就是我水平低哈哈
