任何人都是有尊嚴的，任何一個有道德教養的人都不會隨意侮辱和傷害別人。你傷害了別人的尊嚴，換來的是他人的鄙視。人沒有高低貴賤之分，關鍵就是把他人放在與我們平等的位置上，考慮對方的需求和感受，而不要盛氣凌人。 維護保持他人的勞動成果更是對他人的尊重。常常看到有人在公共場所隨手亂丟瓜皮果殼，隨口吐痰，污染環境；常常看到剛剛清掃的教室里，沒過多久，就到處是垃圾。這些不良習慣無意間也是對他人勞動的不尊重。

那時第一次見她，是在放學的路上，當時下著傾盤的大雨。路上的人個個披著雨衣，撐著傘，匆匆忙忙地回家了。這時候，我望見了我家門口的垃圾堆旁，有一個人，在那清理垃圾，是誰在那兒呢？這么大的雨應該不會是清潔工人吧？帶著疑問，我走了過去。只見一位滿臉是塵埃阿姨，穿著破爛的雨衣，（水從雨衣的「洞洞」里流了進去）她十分認真地清理著垃圾。我吃驚極了，我從小到大，從沒見過一位清潔工人能在這么大的雨下，如此認真地為我們清理垃圾。他左手拿著鏟子，右手拿者笤帚，用笤帚把垃圾掃進鏟子上，用笤帚把鏟子夾著；再用鏟子把垃圾「送」進垃圾車里。我不由得問了：「阿姨！這么大的雨你還在清理垃圾啊？明天天晴再來還好拉。」這時候，阿姨他擦了擦身上的雨水，（那時已分不清是雨還是汗了。）打了一個「哈秋」。啊！她因為淋雨而感冒了！她又拿起笤帚，邊清理垃圾邊對我說用那沙啞的聲音對我講：「不行！我如果今天不快把這垃圾清理掉，那麼就會有更多的細菌滋生，到時，臭味沖天，這樣你們回受到影響，還會把市容影響了啊！」聽了她的話，我又問到：「可是你感冒啊！得去醫治才行啊！」聽了我的話，她似乎剛想起自己的病似的。笑著說：「沒事！我感冒只關繫到我自己的健康，清理垃圾卻關繫到大家的健康。你說，大家的健康重要還是一個人的健康重要？當然是大家的健康重要拉！所以，我得先清理了些垃圾再去看病啊！」說完，她又拿起了笤帚和鏟子，繼續工作。
這時的我愣住了。有人因為他們（清潔工人）的職業、地位卑微而小看他們，又因為他們臟，一見到他們就四處迴避。其實相比之下，他們又變得多麼偉大。如果世上沒有了清潔工人，那麼，大街小巷上都積滿了垃圾。到時，臭氣沖天，地球就像一個垃圾堆那樣，還美嗎？地球能夠這么美，他們是功不可沒的。剛才那個清潔工人就是那樣，在她感冒的時候，想到的卻是大家的健康，而不是自己。有人總是用歧視的眼光看他們，說他們沒用，可是他們沒有怨言，依然認認真真地為我們清理垃圾。在這個雨天，在這不顯眼的角落裡，幾乎沒人會發現這位「城市美容師」，更沒什麼人來這贊揚她，但她依然在那個平凡的崗位上做出不平凡的成績。她那種精神是十分令人敬佩的，也十分值得大家去學習的。
從那以後，我再也沒見過她了，但他那種精神鼓舞著我。它告訴我，人活在世上，是為了為自己和大家做貢獻的。
