听写单词是英语教师比较常用的一种检测单词的手段。往往都是学生学完新词后，在家里死记硬背，听写的时候也感觉非常枯燥。常规的听写单词在三（8）班显然是没有明显效果的，因为班里也就十多个同学能写出来，成绩差的同学甚至一个单词都写不出来。这样子让他们对学习越来越有挫败感。于是我在班里采用了一些较灵活的方法。每单元的单词听写分为以下两个阶段进行：
第一，听发音，抢单词。老师每个单词朗读三次，学生有把握的自己写下来，没有把握的或者不清楚的可以快速翻看课本，并把单词下来。但是这里有个要求，就是看到时间不可以超过5秒钟，只可以看一次，写的时候要记住整个单词并写下来，写完后在序号上画圈，表示该单词是看书的。
第二，听发音，直接写单词。这个阶段很简单，就是老师说什么，学生写什么。在这种听写方法中，英语教师起绝对的主导作用，控制听写的全过程，并且听写的内容是固定不变的。学生只是被动呈现出教师所读的内容。
第三，短语搭配听写。教师准备好新授的、常用的由两个或两个以上的词搭配而成的英语短语。如：have a rest。在听写时，教师只读其中一个词，如：have ，再让学生写出他们所能想到的任何一个可以与该词搭配而成的词组。如：have a fever, have a headache,等。写完后，教师通过小组交流讨论，比一比谁（哪个小组）写得最多最正确。并通过朗读、使用这些词组去记忆。正确使用大量英语短语可以使自己的英语更简洁和地道。
第四，看老师做动作，学生写单词。如第三课的新词，有cool, warm, rain, snow，通过老师做动作，学生根据意思写出单词，通过小组讨论检查，比一比谁写得最多最正确。
另外，我还在网上搜索到以下这种听写方式，暂时还没进行尝试。
“形近或音近的词听写。这是一种较为传统和灵活的听写方法。在听写之前，引导学生整理与此相关的单词，例如:fall 秋天，与之形近的有ball球、tall 高的、call称呼等；third第三与之音近的有bird鸟等。在听写的过程中，教师读出其中一个单词，学生可以写出与此相关的其他单词，有能力的学生还鼓励他们写出一个句子区分词义。例如：I like fall best. My math teacher is tall. I call my father’s father grandfather.”
总之，通过灵活采用不同的听写方法，教师可以有效地将英语听写与阅读、写作与口头表达能力的培养结合起来，并激发学生的想象力的发散思维能力，使听写过程变得饶有趣味。
