social history of the East End of London

In the last few weeks we been looking very suspect serve the social history of london, and this morning we continue with the look life and area called East End. All stop with the brief history of the district and then the focus on the life in the first time for the 20th century

Back in the first and 4th centuries’___, when the romans control england, london grew into town 45000 people. Almost now the east end the area by the river___are the long the road heading northeast from london to the coast, consist the farm land with crops and livestock which help to feed that population.

The rooms left in 50 at the beginning of the 5th century and from that on was the country suffered serious invasions by traps from present day germany and denmark _______ many of whom settled in instead. But the technology they introced made the metal and leather goods were proce there for the first time, and the East End by the river, ships could transport goods between there and foreign markets.

In 11th century in 1066 to be processed the the normans conquer the England and ring the next few centuries london became one of the most powerful and prosper cities in the europe, the East End benefit from this, and because there were a few restrictions then that the city itself plenty of new comers settle down from abroad, bring as skilled workers ,merchant or money lenders, ring the next few hundred years. In the 16th century the first dock was done, where ships were constructed eventually making stand of the focus of massive international trade. And in the late 16th century when much of the rest of England were suffering economically, a lot of agriculture workers came to the East End to look for all turn their work.

In the 17th century the East End was dealed serious of separate _____settlements, that was shortage of commendation, so marsh land was drained and built on the house the large number of people now living in

By the 19th century london was the biggest port in the world and this became the main source of employment in the East End, those they could for to live in more pleasant surroundings were moved out, and the area became one where the _____people live next stream povety and suffered from poorly sanitation conditions

That brief and line takes the beginning of 20th century and now were turn on to housing. At the beginning of the century living condition for the majority of working people in east london were very basic and deed. Houses were crowed closed together and usually very badly build because there was no regulation. But the poor and needed were ___by the possibility of work and had to be house. It was_____condition of the housing it was major concern for tenants and landlords’ like. Few houses had electricity at that time so other sources of power used like coal for the fire which heats perhaps just one house of course the smoke from the east contribute to the great deal to the air pollution for which london used be famous. A tiny damp unhealthy house like this might well be occupyed by two-four families possibly including several children, grand parents, aunts and uncles.

Now if we are going to health implication of this way of life or say something about food and nutrition
