在英语听力考试时，很多人没有办法听懂或听到所谓的关键词，或者无法把听到的内容连接成句子，怎么办?实际上，关键点在于，太过于关注“听”而忽略了听力考试的思维和传播本质。其实真正在做听力题的时候，需要的英语知识只是一层外衣，有时内在逻辑能力更加重要。这一点和国外考试中的SAT和GRE中的句子填空题有点像，不同是，SAT和GRE的单词，不会就是不会，了解了逻辑单词全不会也没用。然而，四、六级听力中的单词对于学生来说相对简单，真正的难词比例非常小，故而，其实逻辑和思维能力更加重要。所以相对的，在考试中要消除紧张，克服心理障碍。当遇到生词或一时想不起的词时，不要把精力集中到这个词上，继续往下听其余的材料。-
首先在英语考试中，我们常遇到的题型一般都是以对话模式开始的，所以针对对话模式我们在英语听力考试中又应该怎么做?
每一段对话或是文章都会有一到两个是主题句，这个中心点无论是在英语考试中还是在英语听力考试中都是不变的。所以主题句的所在可以说是制胜的关键，你可以不理解那段话，只要你理解主题句。
主题句常常在对话的开头，对整篇对话的大意起到概括和提示的作用，实际上是说话人所谈论的中心话题;长对话的第一题很可能针对对话的开头提问。 结尾处往往涉及到建议、决定或某种行为等，它对整个对话起到一个总结的作用。长对话的最后一题经常是针对对话的结尾设题，故留意结尾回合中的关键动词就成了解题的关键。
(1)利用对话正式开始之前的阅读题型介绍及例题时间快速浏览选项，做到心中有数。
(2)掌握特定句型：英美人在向他人提出建议或请求时，往往采用委婉的方式来表达。好在这类题目英语中有较为固定的句法结构.
否定题型在这类题型中，最重要的线索是抓住否定性的关键词。值得注意的是这类题一般都不是以明显的否定方式出现的，所以需考生多加注意。
身份及人物关系题型：在Section A中身份及人物关系的题型几乎每次考试都会出现。考生可以通过抓关键的特征词来判断。四级听力中常见的人物关系有teacher and student, librarian and student, shop assistant and customer, doctor and patient, waiter (waitress) and customer。地点及场所题型：这类题在听力对话题中也较简单，考生只需掌握表示地点及方位的介词短语，抓住其中的关键场景特点，就能辨认对话发生的场所。如一听到boarding一词，就想到是机场。
数字和时间题型：这是Section A中最简单的一类，考生只要事先浏览了选项，留意对话中的数字或时间稍经计算和分析，就能答对。所以，考生一定要把握好这类拿分题。

短文理解题应试技巧：这部分是听力题中难度最大的部分。信息量大，题材多样化，考生往往难以把握。在听的过程中考生不仅要听懂，抓住其中心大意，并且还要记住某些重要的事实和数据。听力短文的提问形式一般有以下几种：中心思想归纳题：它要求考生对短文的主要内容有一个大致的了解。对于大部分考生来说，掌握文章大意并不难。
重要的事实和细节题：这类题一般为wh-question的形式，主要就文章中涉及到的重要或关键性信息进行发问，做好这类题的关键是抓住文章中的关键性细节信息，要注意养成边听边记的习惯，这样才不会听完就忘。另外，事先浏览各选项，进行预测。
正误判断题：当看到这类题时，考生一方面应对全文的信息有全面的把握，另一方面要注意听清提问，对于有没有not一词要搞清楚。一般情况下，not一词会重读。
词语释义题：这类题要求考生对文章中的某个重点词进行解释或猜测生词。对于这类词，一般会在材料中的有关位置给出解释，有时该词的后面用一同义词解释，有时借助于逗号、破折号来对前面的词进行解释。考生还可借助词的前缀、后缀来判断一个词的意思。
