根据教育部考试中心和湖北省教育考试院文件，全国大学外语四级考试时间定在2009年6月20日（星期六）上午举行，英语六级考试时间定在2009年6月20日（星期六）下午举行。
现将2009年上半年全国大学外语考试有关报名事项通知如下：

一、报名资格：
按照教育部文件要求，从2006年下半年开始，CET不再接收社会考生报名。报名对象仅限于全日制普通高等院校专科生、本科生、研究生和各类全日制成人高等院校（含高等教育自学考试全日制助学班）在校生。报考CET4须修完大学英语四级课程，报考CET6须修完大学英语六级课程且持CET4合格证（2005年前）或者持达到教育部考试中心规定分数的成绩单（2005年起）。
根据我校实际情况，经研究决定我校参加四六级考试学生报名资格如下：
四级考试报名资格：05、06、07级所有本科在校生；继续教育学院05、06、07级全日制在校生并且上学期英语考试成绩在80分以上（含80）的。
英语六级考试报名资格：获得四级证书或四级成绩达到425分以上(含425分)的所有全日制本科、继续教育学院及硕士、博士研究生在校生。

2009年英语四级“机考”基本常识

新四级机考主要有三大不同：

首先是考试形式不同，传统的四级考试是完全的笔试，而新四级考试则是依靠网络和计算机来进行，对计算机和网络设备等技术上要求较高；

其次是考试时间不同，传统的四级考试时间为上午9点至11：20分，而新四级机考时间为上午9点至11点，比原来少了20分钟。据介绍，之所以时间缩短，是因为传统四级考试是分两段式进行的，当中有一个收卷、发卷的停顿过程，而新四级机考由于完全在计算机上考试，不要中途停顿；

第三是通过新四级机考的学生除了有四级考试证书以外，还有一张参加机考的证书。

1、增加跟读环节：

在题型方面，机考的试题大致分为八个部分。在听力部分后面增加了跟读的环节，需要考生对着计算机的麦克风重复之前听到的对话，以此考查考生的口语是否标准。所以在考试前，考生们需要调试计算机的麦克风音量。
