但是，我们是学法律或教法律的，尊重程序对于将要从事法律工作的人具有特殊的意义，而尊重程序就得尊重根据程序所得出的结果。为此我要向你们道歉。我觉得光道歉还不够，我应该受到严厉的惩罚。在过去的一年中，我受聘的是教学六级岗（见习岗），每月除了1000多元的基本工资外只有1000元的津贴，比我担任图书管理员的同期收入每月少1200元，比我这个资历的人可能申请的教学三、四级岗那就少得更多了。我决定今年再申请教学六级岗一年，通过承受远远大于你们的经济损失，来稍微平复一下你们因为考试不及格而遭受的痛苦。如果再一次出现这样的考试结果，我将开除自己的教职。
当你们平静下来不再因为不及格而痛恨我的时候，我希望我们双方都能够从这次不及格中吸取教训。
从这次考试的答卷中不难发现，你们对于那些需要自己归纳而不能在教材的某个地方找到现存答案的试题回答得虽然不好，但对于教材里有现存答案的基础知识（例如并不生僻的名词解释）回答得更差。显然你们大多数同学没有按我的要求在听课前预习，部分同学甚至在考试前没看过教材，仅仅凭着上课的时候听得似懂非懂而且已经遗忘了不少的那点东西（甚至还缺过几堂课）就来应考了。老实说，我的阅卷并不很严格，不但预先制定的标准答案上没有的内容你们回答得有理的酌情给了分（这是应该的），而且你们普遍存在的词不达意和病句现象我没有扣分。如果这不是普通的期末考试而是硕士研究生入学考试，估计你们的平均成绩还要再低10分。你们的年龄大多在24岁左右，到了这个年龄还只有这点学习自觉性，这确实是我所没有想到的。
反思造成你们那么多人考试不及格的原因，我觉得我也是有很大责任的。我并没有因为不务正业而影响备课，我这学期一直在看跟授课内容有关的书，尤其是关于物权问题的书，我的两个老学生可以证明。我也曾试图改变教学方式，从前半学期的演讲式到后半学期的座谈式，你们应该能感受到两者的区别。但是我高估了你们的自学能力和学习自觉性。因为这种高估，我在教学过程中比较注重前沿问题而对基础知识重视不够，动不动就说第多少页到第多少页自己看去。因为这种高估，我对你们看书的情况没有专门进行检查、监督。因为这种高估，我在命题的时候没有考虑到你们的法学基础不如法律本科生这一情况适当降低难度。我想这些都是造成你们那么多人不及格的原因。尤其应当检讨的是，我布置的作业中，选物权、债权、继承部分题目的同学都有，其中选物权、债权部分题目的早该交作业了，可是你们拖延不交，一直拖到第18周，害我来不及细看，更无法因此而在教学上作出相应的调整。我虽然中间有两次提到你们作业写好了的请交给我看，但没有采取任何有力的督促措施。究其原因，一则是因为你们年龄那么大了我不愿意对你们说威胁性的话（惟一的一次是开考前对那些作业是从互联网上抄袭来的同学），二来可能是因为如今学年论文、毕业论文水平的普遍下降（跟上世纪90年代中期我教过的学生比）使我对看学生的作业有了心理恐惧。

一、分项备考策略：
（一）、听写
听写是力争在听第一遍的时候能对文章理解达到80%：二是记单词时绝对不能忽视音标；第三是巩固自己的语法水平，争取在交卷前的两分钟利用语法知识修正错误。平时应注意快速记笔记、略记。
（二）、听力理解
SectionA、Section分别是对话和文章，对注意力的要求非常高。
SectionC是新闻，建议平时多做相关练习，这样对新闻英语的结构、用词和一些国际事件的背景就不会太陌生。
（三）、完型填空
它主要考察的是词语搭配、逻辑关系和语法能力。最好先从头到尾读一遍题目，读的时候考虑一下空格里可以填什么词汇，然后再对照空格和题干，一道一道做下去。建议研究真题之后自己总结一些规律，然后利用练习材料重点突破。
（四）、单项选择
这一部分题量较大，但分值不多。建议对真题进行认真总结，发现自己的薄弱环节，然后有针对性的进行训练。
（五）、阅读
专业四级在阅读方法上，我推荐大家在专四中采取“先看题，再读文章”的办法。看了题再“搜索式”的去读文章，不必纠缠细节，找到和题目有关的句段，稍做推敲，选出正确答案即可。重要的是注意提高速度。
（六）、写作
写作分为大作文和小作文两个部分。
大作文比较八股，第一段立论，第二段加例证，第三段结论。除了清晰的逻辑，还要注意语言的准确和流畅，不要犯语法错误。另外就是要熟悉专四各类作文模式。
小作文是应用文，需要注意格式和措辞，平时应该练习一下感谢信、道歉信、祝贺信、投诉信等常见应用文体的写法。

2、英语专业四级、八级词汇表（上外版）
词汇的掌握是备考的一个环节。一本好的词汇书要有收词范围广、词汇释义和词语搭配精确、词频标注精确等特点。（附录中的词缀表是"通过词缀记忆单词"的好材料。）
3、高等学校英语专业基础阶段考试（TEM4）语言技能训练与指导（第二版）
该书详细介绍了各个考试项目测试的语言技能，提出了很有针对性的备考建议，并未每个项目提供了相应的习题。
