One dark, windy night, the town drunk was meandering his way home after the bar closed. Somehow he got turned around and ended up walking through the churchyard instead of taking the road home.
The wind picked up and he thought he could hear a voice calling his name. Suddenly, the ground opened up in front of him, and he fell down, down into an open grave! He could hear the voice clearer now, calling to him. He knew it was the devil, coming for him just like the preacher said, on account of him being the town drunk.
The hole was very deep and inside it was pitch black. His eyes adjusted to the darkness after a few moments, and he made out a form sitting in the darkness with him. It called his name, and he scrambled away in fear, trying to climb out of that terrible grave. Then the figure spoke. "You can't get out," it said.
The drunk gave a shout of pure terror and leapt straight up more than six feet. He caught the edge of the hole in his hands, scrambled out, and ran for home as fast as he could go.
Inside the open grave, his neighbor Charlie sighed in resignation. He'd fallen into the hole a few minutes before his friend and had thought that together they might help each other climb out. Now he was going to have to wait until morning and get the mortician to bring him a ladder.
2.Bear Lake Monster

If you travel to Bear Lake in Utah on a quiet day, you just might catch a glimpse of the Bear Lake Monster. The monster looks like a huge brown snake and is nearly 90 feet long. It has ears that stick out from the side of its skinny head and a mouth big enough to eat a man. According to some, it has small legs and it kind of scurries when it ventures out on land. But in the water - watch out! It can swim faster than a horse can gallop - makes a mile a minute on a good day. Sometimes the monster likes to sneak up on unwary swimmers and blow water at them. The ones it doesn't carry off to eat, that is.
A feller I heard about spotted the monster early one evening as he was walking along the lake. He tried to shoot it with his rifle. The man was a crack shot, but not one of his bullets touched that monster. It scared the heck out of him and he high tailed it home faster than you can say Jack Robinson. Left his rifle behind him and claimed the monster ate it.
Sometimes, when the monster has been quiet for a while, people start saying it is gone for good. Some folks even dredge up that old tale that says how Pecos Bill heard about the Bear Lake monster and bet some cowpokes that he could wrestle that monster until it said uncle. According to them folks, the fight lasted for days and created a hurricane around Bear Lake. Finally, Bill flung that there monster over his shoulder and it flew so far it went plumb around the world and landed in Loch Ness, where it lives to this day.
Course, we know better than that. The Bear Lake Monster is just hibernating-like. Keep your eyes open at sk and maybe you'll see it come out to feed. Just be careful swimming in the lake, or you might be its next meal!

It was a gloomy, moist night dominated by complete darkness, without even the faintest gleams from the stars. The intermittent and deep roars of the thunders were interwoven with the incessant little rain, while flashes of burning lightning occasionally swept across the somber sky.
Mysteriously emerging from such a depressive background, there was a tiny, black Ford silently running on a muddy road, which was currently winding through a small but gruesome wood on a tranquil hill, called the Silent Hill by the local residents. Inside the car there sat three persons: Tom, a giant, strong but somehow a bit barbarian guy, was driving in the front; Maria, Tom's wife, a small and sensitive woman, also quite a tough figure, together with a thin and pale man quietly sitting beside her, was currently sitting in the back. The man looked much younger than the couple in the car, with his vague eyes aimlessly penetrating into the endless darkness outside through the rattling filthy window.
"What a terrible weather!" Tom grumbled with considerable annoyance, "So Maria, are you out of your stupid mind? You know my mother will have her birthday tomorrow! I can never understand why we should make such a damned journey this night!"
"Oh, behave yourself, please! I've already explained it to you almost a thousand times!" angrily reply Maria, "You know it's such a long distance and we may even not arrive there until midday, moreover, we're expected to do most of the preparation there. Each year is just the same, while this time…" Suddenly she paused, slightly turned her head to her right and made a warm glance at the silent man beside her.

The door bell rang miraculously while she was habitually reading that day's newspaper; she opened the door, and there miraculously stood this poor fellow, looking terribly tired and sty, as if just returning from an arous expedition.
"Well, he is quite a mystery then," turning his head around, Tom impolitely spoke to the quiet young man, "You guy, just let me know what you've been doing these years indeed! Em, you must have made an enormous fortune, but are the least willing to share with us!"
"Tom, what you are talking about! Arthur has already told us exactly on the day of his arrival that he had a traffic accident, thus forgot all his past! You surely know it, as clearly as me!" Maria reproached her husband with anger,"And look ahead, you're always too careless when driving!"
"Excellent excuse! Forget all his past? Then still remember you, his dearest sister? Even our house? What a marvel!" The sarcasm in Tom's voice was greater than ever.
Maria helplessly opened her mouth as if wanting to oppose, but eventually made no sound at all. In heart she understood as well that Arthur's excuse was really far from being convincing. However, in her opinion, he had probably experienced something tragic in life, which he was absolutely unwilling to reveal to others, even his most intimate relative…after all, she understood her brother well, even better than he understood himself…
"Well, was the past really so important? Let's always look ahead in our life, shall we?" A very tender, sweet voice suddenly wafted into Maria's meditation. Raising her head, she gave a sympathetic smile to the maker of that sound. In her eyes, regardless of these years' separation, her brother was still that innocent, gentle boy in her memory, always with agreeable speech and decent behaviour.
"Well, in my mind, above all Arthur is still that lovable boy, and that's already enough." With an unsuppressed impulse, she felt that it was a necessity to speak for the gentleman beside her. "Above all, Tom, you just can't ignore that ring these days, how polite he has been, and how many favors he has done us…"

Hearing this, Arthur took on a totally confused expression, so did Maria. the children and the babysitter got murdered by the clown.
It turned out to be that the clown was a killer that escaped from jail.

Before his startled eyes, a white mist burst forth from an unmarked grave and formed into a large horse carrying a headless rider.

The Dutchman let out a terrible scream as the horse leapt toward him at a full gallop. He took to his heels, running as fast as he could, making for the bridge since he knew that ghosts and evil spirits did not care to cross running water. He stumbled suddenly and fell, rolling off the road into a melting patch of snow. The headless rider thundered past him, and the man got a second look at the headless ghost. It was wearing a Hessian commander's uniform.

After fortifying himself with schnapps, the Dutchman told his wife about the ghost. By noon of the next day, the story was all over Tarrytown. The good Dutch folk were divided in their opinions. Some thought that the ghost must be roaming the roads at night in search of its head. Others claimed that the Hessian soldier rose from the grave to lead the Hessian soldiers in a charge up nearby Chatterton Hill, not knowing that the hill had already been taken by the British.

阿朝的老爸的單位在某個大樓的14層里。這棟大樓是作為一些公司辦公室而建的，所以很高。至少有上百家公司，大多人都是坐電梯的。（說這些是有點廢話，沒有那個傻子願意爬樓梯，但我就是為了讓大家了解，這棟大樓有電梯）
一日，阿朝在班中無意見提到了他老爸所在的辦公大樓，正說得起勁，在一旁的洋子卻沒頭沒腦的說了一句：「地方是不錯，但可千萬不能在晚上10點以後在那大樓的14層走廊去，否則... ...。」洋子欲言又止，阿朝急切地問：「會怎麼樣？」洋子從書包中拿出了一張報紙，是三天前的。他指了指報紙對阿朝說：「自己看吧。」
阿朝接過報紙，看到上面的一段報道：某公司老總，X月X日於公司所在的大樓里失蹤。據警方調查，該老總下班後由於有一份資料忘記拿出來，於是重返大樓准備回到辦公室取出資料。該老總辦公室位於大樓的14層，他返回大樓時已經10點26分了，監控顯示，他走到14層的走廊里後，就再也沒有出現過。直到今天，警方依舊在搜索，但仍然一無所獲。
「這說明了什麼？」阿朝問。
「你再看看這些。」洋子又拿出了一疊報紙遞給阿朝。
阿朝接過報紙，這回是兩年前的，再看一張，五年前的，上面都是在說某人於那棟大樓的14層走廊失蹤。
「什麼！這... ...」阿朝驚得說不出話來，「老兄，你從哪淘來這些的？這可都是陳芝麻爛穀子的事了！」
「嘻嘻，你忘了我的業余愛好了，專搜集一些令人費解的事件是我的專長。」洋子得意的說道。

這件事很快就被阿朝忘得一干二凈了。
一天，他老爸打電話說可能會晚點回去，阿朝在家裡等，一直等到了9點半老爸還沒回來。於是乎老媽下令讓阿朝去看看，朝不滿，欲跟老媽動手，可回頭再想想，這會兒跟老媽動手，等老爸回來非得跟自己動手，算了，忍了。
阿朝家離辦公樓並不遠，走了大概20分鍾就到了。阿朝走進了那棟辦公樓，上了電梯。忽然阿朝想起了那篇新聞報道，老總失蹤於14樓，啊！老爸辦公室不正好也在14樓嗎？！他下意識的看了看錶，媽呀！已經10點11分了，難道自己剛在樓下畏縮了那麼長時間？不管怎麼說也晚了，去？亦或者不去？這個問題始終縈繞在阿朝的腦海里。最後阿朝決定，把心一橫，心放寬，膽放正，大步踏出了電梯。阿朝面前的確是一條走廊，一條再平常不過的走廊。阿朝以一種誓死如歸的豪氣大步走了進去。走廊似乎很長，總是走不到頭，阿朝很納悶，於是疾步如飛的向前奔了出去。不久他停了下來，可這回他傻眼了，他還在走廊里！阿朝頓時感到一股寒氣，沒命的向回跑，可是沒用，不管他跑多久，眼前依舊是走廊，並且永無止盡的延伸著... ...
第二天，新聞又有報道：某高中生阿朝於昨夜進入大樓尋找其父失蹤，據其母親說，他父親晚上加班回來的晚，就讓阿朝去找，誰知一去不復返。其父親說當晚並沒有看到兒子來找他，於是就自己回去了。此次事件還在調查中... ...
