1.仔細審題是關鍵，立意鮮明效果現。

一、外部因素
（1）應試教育制度的影響。相對於滿分（150分）來說，高中英語寫作在整份高考試卷中佔有不很大的分量（20分）。在國家大力提倡素質教育的同時，應試教育的舊習仍舊存在於許多學校和各類考試中，再加上我國傳統文化中「望子成龍，望女成鳳」「學而優則仕」等思想有時仍然深刻地影響著社會，有時家長對學校的評價，學校對教師的評價，教師對學生的評價，都圍繞著考試成績做文章，最終導致對英語寫作的不重視。
（2）生活環境的影響。中國英語學習者在學習英語的過程中缺少大環境的存在：說話時無論句子長短，都是漢語交流；在平常的閱讀過程中也只是閱讀漢語的書籍（包括教材和課外書刊），很少或者根本不涉及英語書籍，精讀朗誦外文佳作、名篇或者名言詩歌更是不可能的；看電視或者電影時涉及外文的一律轉換成漢語，或者只看帶有漢語翻譯的等等，導致我們在說話寫文章或者材料時很少或者壓根不用英語。如此一來，英語寫作水平每況愈下，越來越差。
二、內部因素
（1）學生的因素。①學生對寫作的恐懼心理和消極態度，導致許多學生對寫作採取放棄的態度。作文上交拖拉，往往一篇作文從布置到上交需要一周左右的時間，半數同學能上交，剩下的陸陸續續上交的同學也是在老師的「催促下」完成的，就這樣其中還不乏敷衍應付的同學。如：找他人作業抄襲的，照抄課本或者作文範文句子的、東找一句西拉一句胡亂拼湊的。②詞彙貧乏是學生在寫作中最為突出的問題。許多學生反映說很多單詞很熟悉，但不知為什麼寫作文時就是想不起來。很多學生，尤其是農村學校的學生，他們學習條件差，學習工具少，許多學生連本小小的英漢詞典都沒有。在作文時，遇到不會表達的詞時，學生往往就會穿插相當一部分漢語詞彙放在作文中。有個別學生，雖然他們也去查字典找單詞來盡量表達自己想要表達的意思，但往往是事與願違，反而造成學生寫英語作文時漢英詞對詞生硬翻譯的現象。③中國英語學習者用英語寫作時，常常習慣用漢語思維構想一篇作文，這樣寫出的作文多數是一篇堆砌英語詞彙的漢語式的作文。學生大多數是按照漢語習慣，把漢語中一些詞彙或表達方式直接拼湊在一起成為不合乎語法、不正確的句子。如「我愛我的媽媽」，好多學生寫作時會寫成「I love I mother」，這樣寫出來的句子往往句子不通順、病句連篇，甚至詞不達意。④語法知識的欠缺。比如有些學生甚至到高三寫作文時還在be動詞後面直接寫動詞原形或者動詞的過去式。只會寫短句子，不會使用復合句，寫起文章來只會重復小學初中用過的語言和句子，寫作「無米下鍋」，反復使用一些簡單句型「I am……」「I like……」結果寫出的作文語言乾巴，不連貫，內容貧乏，表意不清。
