在英文句子中動詞不存在少用多用這種說法.一個句子的核心就是動詞,在沒有專連詞的情況下一屬個句子只能有一個動詞,其他的動詞都是要轉換成其他形式的.

在基礎寫作中，大部分學習者知道以下技巧：

根據這段話，其中「一共出現過五次物種大滅絕」並沒有寫成five great extinctions have happened，而是there have been five great extinctions，這是很常見的表示「……事件發生」的名詞結構。「第六次物種大滅絕即將到來」並沒有寫成a sixth is coming，而是a sixth is under way，也是一個典型的名詞結構。
