有個故事，說是一個十來歲的孩子，一次與同學在外面吃飯，吃到雞蛋時，他說這里的雞蛋不好吃，和家裡的不一樣。問他怎麼不一樣，他說是太硬了，家裡的雞蛋是白皮的，很軟，拿著就能吃。原來，他父母一直把雞蛋剝了才給他吃。
也許這只是個特例，但放眼看去，生活中類似的人與事還真不少。
馬莉出生在一個富裕的家庭里，她的父親是政府官員，他非常愛馬莉，把她想要的東西都買給她，以致於在她心中產生了這樣一種想法：反正爸爸有的是錢，夠我花上一輩子了，我幹嘛要刻苦地學習，辛勤勞作呢？所以她不喜歡用腦子認真思考問題。導致了她在課上鬧出「一隻鴨子有四條腿」的笑話，惹得全班大笑。
