英語作文與語文的作文一樣，在考試中所佔的分數比例是最大的，如何寫好一篇英語作文呢？這個需要同學們在平常的生活中的不斷積累。
英語寫作是言語使用的一個緊要方面，也是言語才能測定的緊要手腕，權衡小學生英語寫作程度的規范便是看其能否能用學過的言語資料，語法知識等用文字的方式來表達描繪。
口語言表達普通分為三個進程：思想、組織、表達。先是思想，把要寫的東西在腦中思考，這往往是一般的，孤立的少許素材，很混亂瑣碎；因而要對此實行組織，把這些思想作出整理，使其條理、零碎化，但這還是較粗糙的，能夠還有少許用詞不妥或言語錯誤；最終才是表達，把組織過的資料認真琢磨，確定了再落筆成文。
在撰寫時要留意主謂語相同，時態照應，用詞貼切等，這就是寫作。上述的三個進程，最難的就是第三個進程，這需求我們有較好的語法知識，掌握一定數目的句型，習氣用語，純熟的寫作技術，這樣才幹寫出通暢生動的文章來。
首先要搞好閱讀。閱讀是寫作的根底，在閱讀方面下的功夫越深，駕馭言語的才能也就越強。因此要寫好英語先要讀好英語，在言語學習方面狠下苦功，教科書要讀透，由於教科書中的文章都是少許很好的範文，文筆流利，言語標准，出色的少許課文段落要背誦。再就是要實行少量課外閱讀，並記住少許好文章的篇章構造。
其次，要增強練詞造句的鍛練。詞句對作文十分於造房的資料，小學生英語口語練習無好資料就造不出好房子。平常在學習閱讀時要留意搜集積聚，把好的詞語、短語、句型做好筆記。平常在練習中的錯誤也要做好記載，再對照正確句子，使地道的英語句子好像要求反射，落筆就對。
還有，要理解英語寫作的不同體裁與格式。能夠先看一本說明英語寫作入門的書，對英語寫作有一個初步的概念，如怎樣寫談論文，如何提出論據，如何展開，如何確定重心句；又如，英語信的格式，如何按照不同身份寫不同完畢語等，接著按照不同的體裁實行寫作練習。
要養成記英語日記勤練筆的好習氣。常常用英語記日記，小學生英語學習經驗等於天天在練筆，這無疑是進步英語協作的卓有成效的好方法。在記日記時，不必總是用容易句，要無意識地用少許好的片語、句型、關聯詞和復合句等，使文句更優美生動。還有要依據標題或所給情形寫文章練筆。寫好後對照範文，找出差距，接著再練習，這對進步英語作文也很有協助，在游泳中學會游泳，唯有多練習才幹練好。
總之，平常學習言語素材積聚多了，體裁格式記住了又常常練習不停進步，到作文下筆時就會隨心所欲，瓜熟蒂落。
