在「經典短文背誦」部分中，我們根據短文的內容將其分為10大類。其實從文章功能來看，我們可把這10大類文章歸為三種類型：解決問題、論證觀點、闡述現象。其中第一類具有解決問題功能的短文包括了：1、身體健康類;2、職業道德類;3、人口增長類;4、環境保護類。第二類具有論證觀點功能的短文包括了：5、情感類;8、人生價值類。第三類具有闡述現象功能的短文包括了：6、文化交流類;7、教育類;9、家庭關系類;10、社會熱點類。需要說明的是，以上分類並不是具有絕對意義的，譬如一些身體健康類的話題也可能適合以論證觀點的短文模板來套用。我們這里所說的是指大致的分類和適用范圍。
除了以上三項功能，我們還將在本部分的最後列出兩個具有對比論證功能的模板。雖然自從1997 年以來的歷年短文題目中沒有出現要求進行對比論證的話題，但是考生仍然應該有所准備，因為對比論證是英文寫作的一種重要寫作手法，需要引起一定的重視。
這種類型的文章主要針對一些實際的問題分析其原因和後果，最後提出解決的措施。一般情況下三段的分布為：第一段描述圖畫內容，第二段分析問題所在，第三段提出解決方案。

D. 暑假之後，考研英語寫作應該如何准備
階段一：整理記憶
很多同學可能在暑期報過課程，那麼現在即需要整理課堂筆記。每位寫作老師都會教給大家寫作的框架模式，尤其是會給大家總結各種類型的話題論述素材，這些都是寫作必不可缺的內容。所以各位同學需要整理完整課堂筆記，進而進行記憶，為寫作打下基礎。
此外，各位同學也要多從範文中學習亮點詞句、表達方式、行文思路、論述素材等。有了好的語言輸入，才有好的語言輸出。
階段二：仿寫與改寫

考研英語作文需要注意的個方面：
(1)時間分配
作文時間彈性很大，發揮好的同學30分鍾就可完成大小作文，發揮不好的同學可能一個小時還寫不好，但一般情況下，需要將寫作時間控制在50分鍾內，即小作文15分鍾，大作文35分鍾。寫作過程可分為三個階段：
①審題(小作文2分鍾，大作文3分鍾)
一定要認真審題，定下大概寫作方向，勾勒出文章的大概框架。很多英語基礎較好的同學考研寫作未能取得高分，就是因為沒有仔細審題。有些同學擔心時間不夠，草草瀏覽題目，動筆就寫，而寫完發現跑題了，寫得再好也是不及格分。審題時確定文章的中心思想和每段的主題句，可以列出簡短的寫作提綱。
②寫作(小作文12分鍾，大作文30分鍾)
應該把大部分時間用於寫作。多數同學沒有時間打草稿，因此，動筆之前應把句子考慮成熟，盡量少作改動。考生在備考階段可按照時間要求多寫幾篇文章，以便了解時間分配。考試時，最好使用黑色的鋼筆或簽字筆，不要使用藍色、紅色筆，更不要使用鉛筆，最好不要使用塗改液。另外，一定要把作文寫在答題紙指定區域內，不要寫在試卷或草稿紙上。
③檢查(小作文1分鍾，大作文2分鍾)
如果想在寫作中取得理想分數，一定要花一兩分鍾時間檢查文章，要檢查內容是否切題，論點是否明確，論據是否充分，結論是否合理，表達是否符合語域要求，語法是否正確，用詞是否貼切，拼寫是否正確，標點是否得當等。修改時最好不要劃掉一句或一段重新寫。
(2)草稿vs.提綱
有些考生出於卷面整潔的考慮，主張先打草稿，其實大可不必這樣做。考試時間很緊，如果將大部分時間用在打草稿上，可能會沒有時間將最後定稿的文章抄到答題紙上，造成不必要的丟分。打草稿不值得推薦，但為避免大篇幅的改動，考生可在動筆前先列個提綱。列提綱的步驟是：首先確定文章的主題，尋找支持主題的事實、觀點;接著思考如何引出主題、如何論證主題以及如何結尾;然後可用簡單的提示性文字將思考確定後的寫作思路表示出來。
(3)詞彙攻略
由於詞彙量不足或者考試時情緒緊張，考生很可能會遇到一些意思不知道如何用英語表達的情況。遇到這種情況，千萬不要使用漢語拼音代替英語表達，也不要自己創造詞語。可以採取以下幾種方式應對這種困境：使用上義詞，如可以把saw和hammer寫作tool;用從句進行解釋說明，如可以把「數碼相機」寫作a camera that takes pictures without film;避開自己不會寫的詞語，用自己熟悉的詞語重新構思。如果希望在考場上做到得心應手，考生需要下工夫熟練掌握基本詞彙的用法。
(4)模板使用
模板是眾多考生關心的問題。由於功課繁重，很多考生平時沒有時間進行寫作練習，只能寄希望於考前押題，結果屢戰屢敗。當前是一個圖文時代，根本不可能押中題目，考生應扎扎實實提高寫作基本功，不能懷有絲毫的僥幸心理。
根據我們多年的教學經驗，多數考生，尤其是英語基礎不太好的考生，很難短期內在英語寫作方面取得質的飛躍。如想取得寫作及格分，記憶模板未嘗不可。而根據我們的實戰經驗，考前最多記憶兩個框架，即寫作A節和寫作B節各一個。考生需要在考前總結出屬於自己的兩個獨特的寫作框架，並按照框架各寫至少5篇作文(題目不限)，臨場前將其背熟，到考場上再根據具體的題目進行現場發揮和創造。本書在歷年試題精讀透析的寫作部分為寫作A節提供了相應的寫作模板，也在寫作綜述部分和歷年試題精讀透析的寫作部分為寫作B節提供了相關的常用表達和重點句型，可供考生參考並據此搭建自己的寫作框架。
(5)注意事項
①卷面整潔
考官需要在很短的時間內判斷出文章質量的優劣，因此第一印象就顯得十分重要。字體娟秀、卷面整潔會讓考官眼前一亮，考官在閱讀文章的時候就會有一個好心情，潛意識里就會給你一個較高的分數。如果字跡潦草，卷面凌亂，無疑會引起考官的厭惡，從而影響成績。
②文章的脈絡
在第一印象之後，考官會迅速瀏覽你的文章，尋找那些符合高分標準的要素。如果考生的文章行文思路清晰、論據充足、論證充分，自然大大減輕了考官的工作量，使得考官能夠很快掌握考生的寫作水平。主要的段落需要有較強的層次感，使人可以快速抓住作者的思路，同時表現出作者分析、表達事物的能力。英文作文的行文還需要較強的連貫性，包括過渡句和過渡詞以及邏輯連接詞的運用等。
③閃光點
由於大部分考生對詞彙和句式的掌握都處於一般水平，在寫作中能夠將詞彙和句型運用自如的人非常少，所以考生若能在文章中使用幾個精彩的詞彙、片語和句式，不僅能夠為文章增色不少，還能更加吸引考官的眼球，取得更高的分數。
