如何激發中學生的英語寫作興趣和動機
【摘 要】動機是英語學習成敗的關鍵，作為英語教師了解和激發學生的英語學習動機對指導英語教學具有十分重要的意義。本文是筆者通過現代教育理論的學習和英語教學實踐，針對在英語教學中如何激發學生寫作動機所作的粗淺的論述。

英語寫作在英語教學中起著舉足輕重的作用。但在英語教學過程中，寫作通常被學生們所忽略，他們把英語寫作看成是一種「折磨」，甚至害怕寫作，究其主要原因，是因為他們缺乏英語寫作興趣和動機，因此，我認為如何增進中學生的英語寫作積極性即英語寫作動機就成了目前值得我們探討的問題。中外語言教育學家們都認為動機是影響外語學習成功與否的主要因素之一。他們經過調查發現，影響外語學習的幾個因素中，動機佔33%、才能佔33%、其它佔14 %。在英語教學中，動機一直被認為是教學的關鍵，不僅是聽說讀寫還是語法教學，如果不能激發學生的動機，教學則不可能達到預期的效果。
那麼什麼是「動機」呢？根據牛津辭典修訂本的解釋，動機是激勵人行動的強大內驅力量，是人體發動和維持行動的一種心理活動。人的任何一種有意識的活動都具有一定的活動動機。學生的學習活動也不例外，它總是在一定的學習動機支配下進行的，學習動機強烈，學習行為就積極，學習效果就好。學習動機缺失，學習行為消極，學習效果就不好。
我國著名教育家葉聖陶曾說；「寫作的根源是發表的慾望，正同說話一樣，胸中有所積蓄，不吐不快。」教師應在教學中充分挖掘學生的寫作動力。如果英語作文教學在缺少內動力的情況下進行，學生採取消極、被動、應付的態度是必然的。而真正的寫作動力來自於學生主體——真情實感的抒發、表達與交流的慾望，這是生命的本能沖動，是生命活力的釋放。《新課標》也明確指出，「英語課程要面向全體中、小學生，注重素質教育。課程特別強調要關注每個學生的情感，激發他們學習英語的興趣和動機，幫助他們建立學習的成就感和自信心。」激發學生寫作的積極性，筆者從以下幾個方面進行寫作教學的嘗試：
一、明確寫作動機，調動學生積極性
積極的學習態度是英語學習成功的關鍵。筆者今年擔任高三年級的英語教學工作。對於高三學生，除了寫作興趣外，為高考作準備是一個相當清楚的目的。因此大部分學生目標明確、學習自覺、作文練習主動。
二、選擇學生感興趣的話題，抒發學生心聲
學生感興趣的往往是貼近他們生活的，如熟悉的人物、喜歡的明星、寵物、家庭生活、學校生活、理想等。選題越是貼近他們的個人需要和興趣，他們就越覺得有東西可寫。寫出來的文章內容充實，情感豐富。如有位同學在My Mother中寫道：「I think she is the best mother. She takes care of me. She washesclothes for my father and me. She makes our house clean and tidy. When I failin the exam, she never gets angry with me. She likes laughing. She likes doingsports to keep healthy. She has many beautiful clothes and shoes….」文章中,學生對母親的尊敬、感激與欣賞,已躍然紙上、不言而喻。又如有篇作文題為：假設現在是2015年的春節，你們正在開同學會，每個同學都有了不同的工作和生活，為了大家更好地交流，請想像一下你的情況，向大家介紹自己。同學們有的寫自己是教師，有的是醫生，有的是作家，有的是旅行家，有的是警察，……有的是NBA的player，還有的是cleaner。有的到了香港，有的住在美國。有的「is the richest inthe world」,也有的「live a hard life and only make800 yuan a month.」 有位同學這樣寫：「…I have a computer company in Shanghai. I work hard every day and Ihave made a lot of money. I have two sons. I have a beautiful and clever wife.She helps me a lot with my business. I love her and she loves me…」
閱讀著這一篇篇飽含同學們理想與憧憬的文章，我為他們的大膽、好奇、浪漫、幻想喝彩。我們的教學不正是要引導他們熱愛生活嗎？作文教學可以引領他們進入他們想要的那種生活情境，幫助他們進行對未來美好人生的種種設計，使他們在人生未來的大海里高懸起明燈，使之成為自己航行的目標和動力。
三、注意作文批改方式，保護學生寫作積極性
在傳統的英語寫作評價中，比較注重對英語語法知識、句法結構、表達邏輯等方面的評估。書面表達部分的考查目標在於測試考生的寫作能力、語法知識、詞彙知識、造句能力以及用英語進行思維的能力。因此，許多批改後的作文布滿了圈圈點點。看到自己辛苦努力的作文不僅沒有得到老師的肯定，還被老師改得面目全非，學生寫作的積極性受到極大的傷害。試想，一個在寫作上屢寫屢敗的學生，哪還有寫作的積極性可言？為此，在作文評改中我嘗試以下做法：
1、同伴批改。同伴批改指的是學生通過互相閱讀同伴的作文，對同伴作文提出修改建議的過程。在教學中，我把學生分成2人一組，讓他們在作文初稿完成後先互評修改，共同討論，然後再把作文抄到要上交的本子上。同伴批改以檢查語言知識，語言技能為主。如何對學生進行分組呢？我有時按就近座位把學生分組，有時按號次分，有時按對應組分，有時按男女分，有時讓他們自由組合，上交作文時同組的兩位同學本子夾在一起上交。這樣做的目的是保持新鮮感，讓他們對分組充滿期待。而不時變換組合對象，還能促進學生的交際能力。盡管同伴批改還存在著不少缺點，如提出的建議不夠全面等，但同伴批改讓學習的主體——學生走入了作文評改這一教學過程，每個學生都成了老師，這有助於他們發現自己寫作中存在的問題。而且，學生之間面對面的討論、互相修改通常比教師批改給學生留下的印象要深。這樣犯重復錯誤的概率就會減少。同伴批改可以幫助學生內化英語寫作要求，提高他們獨立評判他人和自己作文的能力。同伴批改使學生形成了一種互相合作的氛圍，學生互相合作、互相探討，取人之長、補己之短。同伴批改還能減輕老師的工作量。
2、教師評價。學生的寫作應該是認知活動和情感活動相互協助，相互作用的過程。作文評價不僅僅是教與學之間的信息傳遞和反饋的過程，也是教師與學生情感交流的過程。作文評價要著眼於學生的進步與發展的理念，從有利於學生發展的角度來評價學生，把評價定位在激勵學生的進步上。如果教師的評價給學生以理解和激勵，學生的作文就成為一種真實的寫作，使學生處於覺醒之中的自我意識得到體現；教師也會在學生積極而真實的寫作中體悟到教育的生命性價值。所以評價學生作文時，不應把重點放在拼寫和語法結構上，而應放在它所表達的思想及表達方式上。
在寫作教學中，我把評價語言知識的任務交給了學生的同伴評價。在教師評價時，盡量少觸及語法知識，每次語法錯誤只挑兩到三處（有時面對學生作文中的許多錯誤，要做到這一點很難！）。這樣做既節約了教師的批改時間，又使學生有訂正的重點（如果學生真把這兩三處錯誤都解決了，長此以往，該是多大的收獲啊！），同時還保護了學生的寫作積極性，讓他們覺得自己寫得不錯，沒什麼毛病！
在評價學生作文時，筆者努力做到透過作文內容，真正地關注學生日常行為中的情感態度，讓學生覺得寫作是有價值的交流活動。對每篇作文都盡量找出它的閃光點，給予恰當的表揚並提出中肯的意見，並表達對學生的期望，希望以後的寫作精確與流暢兼具。每一次肯定、欣賞的評價，都是幫助學生挖掘其內動力的最好催化劑。在批改學生作文時，我還注意使用評語。作文評語是師生情感交流的重要途徑，恰當的評語能培養學生的積極情感，消除消極情感。評語主要有以下幾種：
(1)表揚式評語，即教師用贊美和鼓勵的語言表揚學生不斷努力的評語。例如：
Excellent /Great /You did a good job. /Veryimpressive
You』ve made great progress! I』m proud ofyou.
Congratulations! You』ve got it right.
That』s amazing. / I enjoy this sentence./Good description .
(2) 委婉式評語，即教師用委婉的語言指出學生存在的問題，努力保護學生的自尊。例如：
Would you please pay attention to yourhandwriting ?
How I wish you could spend more time onEnglish!
More details are needed here? An examplewould have made this clearer.
(3)勸勉式評語 指教師用委婉的勸語，勸勉學生努力學習，使學生樹立信心，不斷進步。例如：
Never lose heart! Failure is the mother ofsuccess!
Where there is a will, there is a way.
四、重視作文講評，提高寫作能力
教師在批改學生作文時，可以忽視一些語法錯誤，但這並不等於教師可以不重視英語語言知識。為此，教師應充分利用作文講評時間，對普遍的語言知識錯誤進行集體分析訂正，以提高學生的實際寫作水平。同時，選讀一些優秀作品，點評好詞好句、好見解，與全班同學一起分享。這樣，既表揚了優秀作者，又對其他學生進行了一次情感教化。
作文批改時，我會認真地記下習作較好的學生名單，對於基礎較差，而本次作文有進步的同學，也詳細記錄，在講評課上，一並在全班面前予以表揚。每次我都會表揚至少三分之一左右的同學，並且特別注意表揚基礎弱的同學。常有學生會問：「老師，今天（表揚）有我的名字嗎？」這看似簡單的一次舉動，卻能讓學生充滿期待。為了這一刻，需要他們事先的刻苦努力，精心准備。我認為：表揚比糾錯重要，過分的糾錯有傷學生自尊，而表揚卻能換來他們無窮的寫作動力。表揚極大地調動學生的寫作積極性，教師又何樂而不為呢？
五、適當地開展競賽，誘發寫作動機
競賽是激發學習動機，調動自身學習積極性的有效手段，因為競賽能呼喚起優越感和滿足學生受他人承認、贊揚等心理需求，國內外許多心理學家的實驗研究證明，在競賽過程中，威信性動機或獲得自尊和自我求成的需要更強烈，由於在競賽中學習興趣和克服困難的毅力增大，因而多數人在比賽的情況下，學習和工作一般比沒有比賽的情況下要好得多。競賽的形式要注意採取自己與過去的競賽、個人之間的競賽和集體之間的競賽相結合。例如，學生每次月考成績超過上一次的，要給予表揚並根據進步的程度分別進行獎勵；每次月考後要求學生自己尋找一個略高於自己的競爭對手，並將對手的名字秘密交給老師，以便到時進行鼓勵和指導積極歸因；在日常課堂教學活動中，在小組之間或個人之間進行限時的競賽，當場公布名次。在班裡造成你追我趕，以趕上或超過對手為最大滿足，激起強烈的學習動機。此外，要多開展小組或班級等集體之間的競賽或自我競賽，以促使其互相幫助，為達到共同目標而共同努力，有助於培養學生的合作精神。少開展個人之間的競賽，引導學生正確對待「優秀」與「落後」，讓「落後者」避免產生焦慮或者過重的心理負擔，使其在過去與現在的進步中看到希望、獲得動力。然而過於頻繁的競賽或統測，不僅會失去激勵作用，反而會製造緊張氣氛，使學生產生怯場的心理狀態，從而加重學習負擔，有損學生身心健康。故採用競賽必須慎重、適量，注意方式，以強化其正確的學習動機，糾正錯誤的學習動機。
六、採取靈活多樣的形式，激發學生的寫作積極性
實踐表明，通過各種各樣的活動也能激發學生的寫作動機。例如在班級牆報上開設 「Excellent Writing」專欄。每次選出一些優秀文章，讓學生抄寫到統一的作文紙上，再由教師寫上點評，張貼到專欄里，供全班欣賞。等到下一期作文貼上去時，學生把換下來的作品存放到自己的成長檔案袋裡。對此，學生積極性很高，許多同學希望老師每次都選他的作品張貼。這樣「Excellent Writing」專欄再次激發了學生的寫作積極性。
以上是筆者通過學習現代教育理論和英語教學實踐，對英語學習與動機的激發作了初淺的論述，但是影響學生英語學習動機的因素是很復雜的，涉及到學生的年齡特徵、個別差異、家庭背景、成長環境、社會背景和課堂教學藝術等。因此，激發學生英語學習動機的途徑也不盡相同，但筆者認為只要能滿足學生的需求，就能激發學習的動機。
