We send our children to school to prepare them for the ,time when they will be big and will have to work for themselves.They learn their own language so that they will be able to tell others clearly what they want and what they know, and understand what others tell them.They learn foreign languages in order to be able to benefit from what people in other countries have written and said, and in order to make people from other countries understand what they themselves mean.They learn arithmetic in order to be able to measure and count things in their daily life, geography in order to know something about the world around them, and history to know something about human beings they meet every day.Nearly everything they study at school has some practical use in their life, but is that the only reason why they go to school?
我們送孩子上學是為了讓他們為自己長大後工作做准備。學習母語是為了使他們明確告訴別人自己要什麼，自己知道什麼並理解別人的話。學習外語是為了從其他國家人士的著作和言語中獲益並讓他國人士了解自己說話的含義。學數學是為了日常計量和算數，學習地理是為了了解周圍的世界，學習歷史是為了了解他們每天遇見的每個人。在學校里學的一切在他們的日常生活中都有實際應用，但這就是他們上學的惟一理由嗎?
No.There is more in ecation than just learning facts.We go to school, above all, to learn how to learn, so that, when we have left school, we can continue to learn.A man who really knows how to learn will always be successful, because whenever he has to do something new which he has never had to do before,he will rapidly teach himself how to do it in the best way.The unecated person, on the other hand, is either unable to do something new, or does it badly.The purpose of schools, therefore, is not just to teach languages, arithmetic, geography, etc., but teach pupils the way to learn.
當然不是。教育不僅僅是學習本身。首先，我們上學是為了學會如何學習，這樣，當我們離開學校時，我們能繼續學習。一個懂得學習的人總是一個有成就的人，因為不管他何時做以前從未做過的事，他都會快速地教自己如何以最好的辦法來做。相反地，一個未受過教育的人不是無法做好新事情，就是做得很糟。因此，學校的目的不僅僅是教語言、數學、地理等知識，也教會學生學習的方法。

If people want to find a job, they have to know where people are wanted. There are several ways to get the right information for job vacancies1 nowadays. They can go to the job markets/fairs2 which are regularly held. There they may have a better chance for hundreds of employers attend. Another simple and efficient way to look for a job is to check the 「Help Wanted」 section from the newspapers. Luckily, they may find something interesting. If they are bold3 enough, they can go directly to, phone or write to various companies or firms to inquire about the vacant positions. For the shy people, the Internet provides them the convenient and easy way to find a job. A mouse clicking saves them time and energy and embarrassment of being turned down4.
When they find the job vacancy to their liking, they can send their resume and job application to the employer. An appropriate resume decides whether the applicant will be given an opportunity for an interview or not. The resume should include the applicant』s personal data, such as name, address, contact number, etc., ecational background, work experience, interests and hobbies. Long resumes are not necessary as the employers don』t have time to go through hundreds of resumes carefully. In addition, the resume should be neat5 and tidy. Mistakes in spelling and format6, even wrinkles7 and stains8are not to be tolerated9 by the would-be employer. Finally, be honest and realistic in the resume.
Once they are notified of10 an interview, they are regarded as the candidates for the position. Make sure to strive for11 a successful interview. They need to be careful of their personal appearance. Formal12 dressing is important. Appearance isn』t everything, but it』s the first thing an interviewer notices about you. Try to be natural, alert13 and interested. Keeping a steady eye contact with the interviewers shows one』s honest and confident. Have a good study of the company before going to learn its business, procts, history and so on. The employer will be favorably impressed with your sincerity and keenness in joining in their organization.
If people follow these three steps carefully, I』m sure they are not far from getting a satisfactory job.

授人以魚不如授人以漁,以下是寫作方法：

本次比賽共分為說明文和議論文寫作兩部分。現代文明要發揚，傳統文化不可忘。作為龍的傳人，老一輩傳下來的春節習俗你了解多少？以向外國人介紹中國春節習俗為主題的說明文寫作促使同學們更加了解中國的傳統文化的同時也增強了他們的民族認同感；高科技對人類社會的影響與日俱增，是該慶幸還是該反省？在人們物質水平提高的同時，精神文明卻面臨著強烈的沖擊。第二塊的議論文寫作不僅考察了參賽選手的價值觀取向，更借機探尋了現代人面對現代科技的選擇。
