It is very common to find that some people are satisfied with what they have, while others want to pursue (look) for something they do not have. My view (thought) is that people should be practical and flexible (open-minded).
What do I mean by being practical and flexible? If what you have now is what the reality allows for, then you should be happy with whatever you have got. However, on the other hand, what you own is not really what you enjoy, then I suggest that you should make efforts to get what you really desire for instead of settling down with what is offer to you.

It is really an indivial (a personal) decision to make, isn』t it? I personally do not think that one way is better than the other. Every coin has two sides – some good, some bad. 英語作文得高分不是很，難關鍵在兩點：一是書寫要好，二是作文錯誤要少。當然第二點說得就是英語水平了，如果你英語還可以或是很棒就致力於寫復雜的句子如帶有從句的，有非謂語動詞的，有虛擬結構的等。如果你英語水平不高就盡量寫簡單句，如there be 句型 it is句型等。爭取不要有語法或單詞拼寫錯誤。這樣能保證得20分（滿分30）。還有如果你的作文中能用到10個以上連接詞如firstly,besides,furthermore,however,on the whole等等，在沒多大語法錯誤上我敢保證作文不下25分。

關於這一點，我認為與語文寫作的培養有相同之處，俗話說：「巧婦難為無米之炊。」而英語詞彙和語法規則就是所謂的「米」，只有掌握了大量的詞彙以及相關的語法規則才能讓學生在寫作過程中游刃有餘，大顯身手，這就需要教師在教學過程中注重培養學生勤記詞彙，勤動手、勤思考的習慣，督促學生在掌握課本詞彙及語法的同時，多注意課外知識的積累，以增加詞彙量，在寫作時才不會搜索枯腸。「觀千劍而後識器，操千典而後知音」就是強調積累的重要性。
二、逐層訓練，加強句式表達
教師要打破傳統守舊模式，即寫作指導+ 例文+ 點評。採用新的教學方法讓學生佔主體地位，不能老師口若懸河，學生昏昏欲睡。在高中英語的教學過程中，由於學生基礎不同，學生成績分層明顯，這就需要我們從最基礎入手。這一環節的寫作訓練中，我們應從簡單句著手。例如，主語+ 動詞(謂語)+ 賓語的表達，I go toschool.例如這樣逐層訓練，逐次提升一定的難度，要讓每個學生從中體會到英語寫作的樂趣與成就感。
三、培養學生歸納課文大意的能力
在高中英語的教學過程中，每一章節課文篇幅都比較長，在讓學生掌握課文詞彙及語法規則的同時，應該讓學生用自己的話總結課文大意，這相當於是對課文內容的濃縮。我覺得這種方法既能提高學生的理解能力、表達能力，又能提高學生的寫作水平，讓學生在實踐中慢慢揣摩英語寫作的奧妙，這對學生寫作水平的提高有很大幫助。
四、學生多練筆，在作文批改中成長
通過以上幾點的積累，學生已經具備了寫作功底，這時要多加練筆。我認為須做到以下幾點：
(1)每次英語課後都會留一小作文給學生，文體不限，隨意記錄身邊的人或事，用英語表達出來。
(2)增加閱讀量，讓學生摘抄一些滿分作文、出色語段。讓學生模仿寫作，久而久之，增加學生對寫作的敏感度。其實多練筆也是提高寫作能力的根本。
五、嘗試新的評改方法
作文評改要力求教師和學生雙方都在課堂上，對學生習作進行當面修改，這和以往學生把作文交上來由老師自己評改是截然不同的。我們知道，好文章都是改出來的，修改文章的過程就是最好的寫作經驗的積累。有許多錯誤的認識和方法需要在不斷修改清理過程中得到改進、提高。教師作為教學的核心，在寫作評改過程中應有針對性地讓學生積累各類文體的寫作方法與經驗，使學生的寫作能力得到切實提高。
