英語考試作文試題的一個最大的特點就是時限性，即在有限的時間內（一般分配30分鍾）按試題要求完成作文試題。有很多參試者最後交卷時作文題要麼沒有完成要麼質量比較差，這其中當然有很多原因，但不可忽視的一點原因便是寫作文時間不夠來不及完成作文或來不及仔細思考寫一篇合乎題目要求的文章。

第三段為結論段，這一段的主要任務是為全文做一個結論性的終結，讓文章顯得完整和連貫。至於開頭和結尾有一定的固定的套路可循。

1. It rained cats and dogs last night. 昨晚雨下得很大。
Rain cats and dogs是一句非常受歡迎的俚語，幾乎每個學英語的學生都懂得用 rain cats and dogs 來形容雨下得很大。
當然如果你不想用俚語的講法，你可以說："It's raining really hard.(雨下得很大)"或是"We're having a heavy rain."同樣也是“雨下得很大”。
那“雨下得很大，我被淋成了落湯雞”這整句話要怎麼講?“落湯雞”在英文里常用"I am soaked."(我濕透了)來形容。因此，我們可以說：It's raining cats and dogs out there so I'm soaked.

2. We had a downpour. 我們剛遇到了一場傾盆大雨。
中文裡常形容下雨像是用“倒”的一樣，這在英文里也有同樣對等的字眼喔!英文里用的是 downpour 這個詞。所以“下雨像是用倒的”我們可以說："We had a downpour."
另外有一個十分口語的講法就是"It's really coming down out there."，也是形容雨下得很大，像是用“倒”的一樣。
3. It's just sprinkling. 只是在下毛毛雨而已。
在英文里不管下“毛毛雨”或是“毛毛雪”我們都可以用 drizzle 和 sprinkle 這兩個動詞來表示。
Drizzle 這個詞就是氣象術語“下毛毛雨”的意思，而sprinkle 則是一個動詞表示“撒”，但也常被用來形容毛毛雨。
常聽到的用法就是："It's drizzling." 或是 "It's sprinkling."另外還有一個詞叫 scattered rain，指的則是“零零星星地降雨”。
例如：We have to cancel the track and field contest because of the scattered rain.因為零星的降雨所以我們必須取消田徑賽。
