1. It rained cats and dogs last night. 昨晚雨下得很大。
Rain cats and dogs是一句非常受歡迎的俚語，幾乎每個學英語的學生都懂得用 rain cats and dogs 來形容雨下得很大。
當然如果你不想用俚語的講法，你可以說："It's raining really hard.(雨下得很大)"或是"We're having a heavy rain."同樣也是“雨下得很大”。
那“雨下得很大，我被淋成了落湯雞”這整句話要怎麼講?“落湯雞”在英文里常用"I am soaked."(我濕透了)來形容。因此，我們可以說：It's raining cats and dogs out there so I'm soaked.

2. We had a downpour. 我們剛遇到了一場傾盆大雨。
中文裡常形容下雨像是用“倒”的一樣，這在英文里也有同樣對等的字眼喔!英文里用的是 downpour 這個詞。所以“下雨像是用倒的”我們可以說："We had a downpour."
另外有一個十分口語的講法就是"It's really coming down out there."，也是形容雨下得很大，像是用“倒”的一樣。
3. It's just sprinkling. 只是在下毛毛雨而已。
在英文里不管下“毛毛雨”或是“毛毛雪”我們都可以用 drizzle 和 sprinkle 這兩個動詞來表示。
Drizzle 這個詞就是氣象術語“下毛毛雨”的意思，而sprinkle 則是一個動詞表示“撒”，但也常被用來形容毛毛雨。
常聽到的用法就是："It's drizzling." 或是 "It's sprinkling."另外還有一個詞叫 scattered rain，指的則是“零零星星地降雨”。
例如：We have to cancel the track and field contest because of the scattered rain.因為零星的降雨所以我們必須取消田徑賽。

伯延村民房鴻業今年66歲了，1961年，房鴻業尚是18歲的小夥子。他回憶，那天是1961年5月3日，「總理穿著灰色中山裝，走在人群中間，邊走邊和街道兩旁的村民打著招呼，感覺很親切。」

周總理偕同鄧穎超來到武安後，住在部隊一個營房，每天早飯後乘車到伯延，晚飯前返回駐地，中午在伯延就餐，開始了對伯延的4天考察。

到伯延的第一天中午，總理提出到食堂就餐，他看見為他備了豬肉和炒雞蛋，就奇怪地問：「平時你們也吃這么好嗎？」食堂的人支支吾吾，總理讓工作人員把肉和炒雞蛋端走了。

周總理決定「偷襲」食堂。一天，他悄悄來到另一個食堂，炊事員一見總理來，連忙蓋鍋蓋。周總理揭開鍋蓋，見裡面還剩些玉米糊糊，拿碗就盛。炊事員慌忙用毛巾替總理擦擦黑黢黢的碗。周總理擺手，「這沒關系，不用擦。」

據房鴻業回憶，當時的社員張二廷「性格很直爽，不會說謊話」。一天，周總理在街上看到張二廷，便上前問，「你在這兒住？」說著便要到家裡去看看。房鴻業說，「其實張二廷沒認出是總理，只看來人衣著像幹部，加上平時說話就沒多少顧忌，所以總理問什麼，他都直說了。」開了幾次座談會，周總理第一次聽到有人說「食堂不好」，但通過聊天也知道張二廷說的都是實話。
5月6日，周總理又一次召集幹部群眾開座談會。這次座談會，來了不少人，張二廷也在其中。座談會上，總理開場白是：「前兩天，和幹部座談，和社員座談，那是背靠背。今天，因為大家敢說話了，幹部和社員一起座談，這是面對面。中央、省、市、縣、公社、大隊、小隊七級，一層管一層，但反過來是群眾管我們。」談到食堂問題時，一開始，很多群眾仍有顧慮，說了違心的話。

■敢說實話，總理和張二廷交朋友

座談會上，周總理看見張二廷在一旁默默無語，就想聽聽他怎麼想。沒想到，張二廷反問總理，「你想聽真話還是假話？」總理回答當然聽真話。

此時，二廷又冒出了一句令在場所有人都震驚的話：「再過兩三年，你也會餓死的。」這句話不僅使在場的幹部群眾都驚呆了，就連周總理也驚呆了。半晌，周總理一拍桌子，大聲對二廷說：「好！你說為什麼過兩年連我也會餓死？」

「說就說，我們吃不飽，沒勁幹活，地里打不上糧，沒有糧食往上交。一年不交，有國庫，兩年不交，還有國庫，三年不交，國庫還有嗎？當總理也要吃飯，國庫沒糧，你能不挨餓？」不知哪裡來的勇氣，二廷一口氣說了一大堆。
