美國英語的音標，也稱K.K.音標，是國際音標的一種，作者為John S. Kenyon & Thomas A. Knott 。他們根據IPA所編的描述美國英語的發音辭典（A Pronouncing Dictionary of American English 1944, 1953）里所用的發音符號，就是一般通稱的KK音標。
KK音標所使用的符號均從前面提到的國際音標符號（IPA）而來，Kenyon與Knott二位僅將其中適用於美式英語的符號截取出來，再加上美音特有的兒音， 變成了美式英語的K.K.音標。這是一套最常用的也是最權威的注音法，從此人們把美語標准發音慣稱為K.K.音標。日常生活中就把KK音標當作美式音標的代表。
母音部分共有21個，其中單母音12個，雙母音9個。 輔音部分共29個。在阿凡提英語里，是把這50個音標，和維吾爾語32個字母的發音進行比較參照，幫助維吾爾人學習美國英語。
一、單母音。
前母音。
/i/ 舌尖抵住下齒背，舌面前部隆起，舌面兩側邊緣與兩側硬齶接觸，口張開，是所有母音中口腔通道最窄的一個母音。嘴唇扁平，聲帶振動，發長母音，和維吾爾語字母ئى的發音近似。
/ɪ/ 讀音和/i/（ئى）近似，但嘴角兩邊肌肉較松，發短母音。
/ɛ/ 發音時，口略開，牙床介於半合半開之間。舌尖可抵下齒背，嘴唇展開，保持不變。舌面前部隆起，聲帶振動，發短母音。和維吾爾語字母ئې的發音近似。
/æ/ 發音時，口腔半開，舌位低，舌尖抵住下齒背，嘴唇展開，保持不變。軟齶和小舌上升，關閉鼻腔通路，氣流從口腔緩緩流出。聲帶振動。和維吾爾語字母ئە的發音近似。
後母音。
/ɑ/發音時，舌尖離開下齒背，舌位自然降到最低，口張大，上下齒離得很遠，舌面後部略向後縮，聲帶振動，發長母音，和維吾爾語字母ئا的發音近似。
/ɔ/ 發音時，口腔半開，舌位半高，舌頭後縮，舌面後部向軟齶隆起，開口度中等，雙唇攏圓。發音時，軟齶和小舌上升，聲帶振動，發長母音，和維吾爾語字母ئو的發音近似。
/ʊ/ 讀音和維吾爾語字母ئۇ近似，但雙唇肌肉較松，發短母音。

中母音。
/ʌ/ 讀音和維吾爾語字母ئا近似，發音時舌頭平放於口腔中間部分，發短母音。
/ɝ/ 舌端離開下齒，並盡量向上齒齦後部捲起，舌位接近半高，雙唇略扁平，向左右兩邊拉開些，呈微笑狀，發長母音。
/ə/ 舌端離開下齒，舌頭平放，牙床半開，雙唇略扁平而放鬆。這個音只出現在多音節單字的非重讀音節中。
/ɚ/ 舌端離開下齒，舌尖輕輕向上齒齦後部卷一下，舌位半低，雙唇略扁平而放鬆。這個音只出現在多音節單字的非重讀音節中。
二、雙母音。
合口雙母音。
/eɪ/ 母音字母a的長母音即為/eɪ/。
/oʊ/ 由圓唇後母音/o/向/ʊ/滑動，念維吾爾語字母ئو和ئۇ的組合音。
/аɪ/ 由前母音/a/向/ɪ/滑動，念維吾爾語字母ئا和ئى的組合音。
/аʊ/ 這個音稱為牙痛音。念維吾爾語字母ئا和ئۇ的組合音。
/ɔɪ/ 念維吾爾語字母ئو和ئى的組合音。
集中雙母音。
/ɪr/ 先念維吾爾語字母ئى，然後捲舌。
/ɛr/ 先念維吾爾語字母ئې，然後捲舌。
/ʊr/ 先念維吾爾語字母ئۇ，然後捲舌。
/or/ 先念維吾爾語字母ئو，然後捲舌。
二、輔音。
爆破音。
/p/ 發音時，雙唇緊閉，軟齶和小舌上升，氣流到達雙唇後，從突然松開的雙唇爆破而出形成此音。聲帶不振動，和維吾爾語字母پ的發音近似。
/b/ 發音時，雙唇緊閉，軟齶和小舌上升，氣流到達雙唇後，從突然松開的雙唇爆破而出形成此音，聲帶稍振動，和維吾爾語字母ب的發音近似。

/g/ 它的發音部位和發音方法和/k/相同，區別是：這個音發音時聲帶振動，不送氣，和維吾爾語字母گ的發音近似。
摩擦音。
/f/ 下齒向上門齒靠攏形成縫隙，軟齶和小舌上升，氣流從唇齒形成的縫隙中摩擦而出產生此音。聲帶不振動，和維吾爾語字母ف的發音近似。
/v/ 下齒向上門齒靠攏形成縫隙，軟齶和小舌上升，氣流從唇齒形成的縫隙中摩擦而出產生此音。聲帶振動，和維吾爾語字母ۋ的發音近似。
/s/ 舌尖接近上齒齦，形成小縫隙，舌面兩側接觸兩側上齒齦，氣流從舌尖與上齒齦所留的縫隙中摩擦而出，聲帶不振動，和維吾爾語字母س的發音近似。
