漢語中經常會出現"我媽媽"，"你們老師"等這樣的語言現象，雖然代詞用的是"我"、"你們"，但實際意義仍是"我的"、"你們的"，所以在英譯時，注意要用形容詞性物主代詞"my","your"。例如： 你媽媽在家嗎? 誤：Is you mother at home? 正：Is yourmother at home?
