來自廣東省教育考試院最近公布的一份通知顯示，今年全省有110人名參加英語口語考試，考人數較去年增加了倍多；而來自廣州市招生辦的統計顯示，今年廣州市考英語口語的考生高達萬多人，去年則僅有000多人，一時間驟增近倍。

小黃是廣州執信中學高三畢業的學生，從去年起，就全身心投入緊張的高考備考階段。一心酷愛英語的他希望能被外省的名牌外語院校或是外語專業錄取，而在里，小黃也是數一數二的英語科的尖子生，對他來說考名校勢在必得。正因為如此，今年高考名工作剛剛開始，小黃就考了月即將進行的英語口語的考試。

小黃的爸爸告訴記者，自從聽說這個消息後，原本將英語視為強項的小黃再也不敢馬虎，天天泡在電腦上，對著光碟練視聽，在學校里更是一點不敢怠慢，又是背又是寫的，生怕落了後與名校無緣。
