Language Point 1

due: a.
1) expected or planned to happen or arrive 预期的;预定的
His next book is due out shortly. 按预定计划他的下一本书即将出版。

There is a danger in reading the classics in that the words and phrases in these works are often out of date. 阅读古典名著存在一个不小的问题,因为这些作品中的词汇、短语通常是过时的。

1)sb. who introduces a television or radio show and talks to visiting guests  节目主持人
This is a popular program because the host has a good sense of humor. 这个节目很受欢迎,因为主持人很有幽默感。
2) sb. who receives guests and provides food, drink, etc. 东道主;主人
It’s polite to write a thank-you letter to your host. 事后给主人写封感谢信才算礼貌。

Language Point 35

be against: not agree with or not support sb. or sth. 不赞成,不支持
Are you for or against the plan? 你是赞成还是反对这个计划?
