Unit 9 新视野大学英语第三册第九课

Preview
The selections in this unit deal with the changing status of the family structure. Passage A is about prenups (premarital agreements), which protect not only the husband and wife, but also the children. Passage B deals with trends like unmarried mothers, rising divorce rates and smaller households. What was traditional family life is becoming more and more expensive and both spouses, especially the wife, must consider their careers in relation to raising children. Women have to bear the financial as well as the physical burden of caring for children. If the mother is forced to leave home to provide for their children, who is there to take care of the children until they reach school age? Passage C provides one solution: male nannies.
