There are numerous newspapers in the world; no one knows the exact number. In China alone, there are as many as a hundred parts of government-run newspapers, such as People's Daily, China Daily, Hubei Daily, etc. Apart from national papers, another branch of the Chinese press exists. Almost every town, every university, and even some middle schools have their own papers, daily or weekly!
Newspapers are an effective means of communication. People who read them every day can know all that has been happening in the world, even without stepping out of their houses. The local papers are written entirely for readers interested in local events.
