Our University
Our university is located in the eastern suburbs of Nanjing. It is an old university whose origins can be traced back to 1945, when it was established as the first Industrial Vocational School in Wuhan. Opportunity for its expansion came only after 1949, when a move was made to the present campus. The campus covers about 700 000 square meters, with a total floor space of 300 000 square meters.
There are 14 departments which offer a total of 40 majors to more than 5 thousand on campus students including about 100 students from countries other than China. All the departments are authorized to confer B.S. and B.E. degrees. Masters degree courses are offered by more than ten majors. In addition, doctoral programs are offered in the departments of Civil Engineering and Electronics Engineering.
The university has very fine facilities for scientific research, such as the International Online Information Retrieval Center which can connect with DIALOG and BRS systems in the United States.
