My Major

    I am majoring in Power System and its Automation. The major deals with power plants and their functioning, automatic monitor and control of the power system. It also deals with the electrical equipment and automatic devices used in the power system and their operating principles, properties and applications.
    The program for this major consists of 16 courses, ten core, six major. The core courses, which introduces students to theory and practice of circuit design, are given over the first of two- year period. The major courses, which are designed to meet the students' professional aspirations, are given in the senior years. The students must meet all the course requirements before he can graduate.
    The curricula are oriented towards developing the students' sense for, and skill in, engineering design. Emphasis is placed on enhancing the students' ability to work independently. After graduation, the students can find jobs in the design of middle-sized and large power plants, electrical engineering and power system or in scientific research.
