英语中表达让步意义的成语有哪些
英语中让步意义的表达方式甚多，并且颇为灵活，可用从句或介词短语表示。除此之外，还有为数不少的成语，常见的有以下几种。
1．at any rate，表示“无论如何”。如：
I'll do nothing until I hear from you，at any rate．无论如何，我在收到你的信以前，不采取任何措施。
At any rate you had better try．不管怎样，你最好试一试。
2．at any cost，at all costs，都表示“不惜任何代价”，“不管怎样”。如：
We were determined to take enemy's strong hold at any cost．我们决心不惜任何代价拿下敌人的碉堡。
She wantd at all costs to avoid an argument with her father because he had been so ill．她想不管怎样也要避免和父亲争论，因为他病得已经很厉害了。
3．at all events，in any event，都表示“无论如何”，“不管怎样”。如：
She had a terrible accident，but at all events she wasn't killed．她出了可怕的事故，但不管怎样她没死。
I'll probably see you tomorrow，but in any event I'll telephone．我可能明天来看你，但不管怎样我会打电话给你。
4．at any risk，at all risks，都表示“无论冒什么危险”，“无论如何”。如：
It must be done at any risk．不管冒什么危险都得做。
He told me that he would go at all risks．他跟我说不管有什么危险他也要去。
5．at that，表示“尽管如此”。如：
The new textbook was hard to understand，but at that he enjoyed it．新教材难懂，尽管那样他还是喜欢读它。
We might have done better at that．尽管如此，我们本来可以做得更好些。
6．for all that（= in spite of that，nevertheless）表示“尽管如此”，“虽然这样”。如：
He says he didn't do it，but I am sure he did it for all that．尽管他自己说他没有做，但我还是相信他已做了。
I don't trust him，for all that so many people consider him reliable．虽然那么多人认为他是可靠的，可是我却不信任他。（for all that在此句中充当连词，相当although。）
7．for（all）the world，for worlds都表示“无论如何（不），决（不）”，常用于否定句。如：
I wouldn't hurt her feelings for all the world．无论如何我也不愿伤她的感情。
I wouldn't stand in his way for worlds．我决不会妨碍他。
8．for anything，表示“无论如何（不），决（不）”。如：
I wouldn't leave you for anything．我无论如何也不会离开你。
I would not do it for anything．这样的事我决不干。
9．in any case表示“无论如何”，如：
I think I told him to do it，but in any case he should have seen for himself that it was necessary．我想我已经告诉他去办了，不过，不管怎样，他自己也应该看出那是需要去办的。
You could not have caught her in any case．She sailed two days ago．无论如何你赶不上她了，她两天前就乘船走了。
10．in any way，表示“无论如何”，“在任何情况下”。如：
I will help him in any way．不管怎样我都要帮助他。
He is not in any way to blame for this．此事无论如何不能怪他。
11．none the less，表示“虽然……仍”。如：
He has faults，none the less he is the best student of the class．他虽有缺点，但仍不失为班上最好的学生。
I can't swim．None the less，I'll try to cross the river．我不会游泳，但我还是要试着渡过河去。
